Best wishes for the freedom fighters in Fallujah and Iraq. May you rid your country of its foreign occupiers.

In 1776, gangs of raggedy-assed guerrilla resistance fighters took on the largest, best-equipped, best-trained Imperial Army on the planet, and dished them out a harder licking than they ever expected…and you know the rest.
So it is in 2004, when gangs of raggedy-assed guerrilla resistance fighters take on the largest, best-equipped, best-trained Imperial Army on the planet, it's looking once again like King George's goons are going to get a worse whuppin' than they ever expected. Seems as if even as they crow about how much of Falluja they "control", the largest, best-equipped etc. Imperial Army is actually being surrounded, jumped, and sucker-punched every time they turn around by the aforementioned raggedy-assed guerrillas, as the Resistance spreads across Iraq, and King George's boys are left "squeezing Jello" in Falluja.
And it's to them, the Iraqi resistance, the "Minutemen" of Falluja, I dedicate this cartoon. Viva la Falluja!

If you are talking about those who are doing the kidnaping and killing, and ransom seeking, then I wish them no "Viva".. Kidnaping and killing someone like Margret Hassan, and the kidnaping for many Jordanians (including a 8-9 years old girl) and asking for ransom money is not something that should be mixed with Resistance.
Definitely not! I'm talking about the freedom fighters. The true resistance. Fuck the terrorists. They are no more than criminal gangs. I liked what the Iraqi Sheikh called today in his Friday Prayer (at one of Baghdad mosques), he called them "Al '7awarej Aljudud'. That's the best description of them.
However, I'm wondering why can't we believe that there is an Iraqi national resistance? Every time we talk about them, the first thing that comes to our mind is the terrorists. That's not fair. I think we should always relate the resistance to it's natural and true meaning? At least here! I guess we are too much influenced my the U.S. propaganda these days.
I don't think it is so much an issue of being influenced by "US Propaganda" as it is that we have not seen any real cohesive and out front representation of an Iraqi National Resistance. What we have seen is a lot of differnt hands grabbing for their own big piece of the pie and appearing to have few bonds with their fellow countrywo/men or fellow Muslims (shi'a or sunni). If someone with a real plan for peace and ridding their country of occupiers and foreign/homegrown terrorists came forward and could garner the support of the people, I dare say we would begin to believe in a legitimate Iraqi National Resistance.
