I had the honoer to participate in unfurling the world's largest flag. The Bahraini Flag!

The flag is a gift to His Majesty King Hamad and the people of Bahrain from MTC-Vodafone, which I proudly work for.

The world's largest flag - a red and white banner measuring 169.5 metres long and 97.1 metres wide.

The flag - opened on grounds near the Bahrain national stadium because it was too large to fit inside - was confirmed the world's largest by a representative of the Guinness Book of Records. "This is spectacular," said Laura Hughes, who flew in from Britain to measure the flag for Guinness. She said Bahrain's entry will be recorded in next year's edition of the record book.

The flag outsized the previous record holder - a Pakistani flag displayed last August - by 359 square metres.

Seventy people worked for 400 hours to make the 3,200-kilogram flag in China.

Did they ever actually try to put that thing on a pole or did they just leave it on the ground? I'd hate to be the one responsible for storing that.

    Happy National Day!

No, I don't think that is possible. The flag is too big. Imagine that the standard football play ground dimensions are 100mx75m. This flag is bigger than that.
It needs a massive and very very long pole to hang it on, which I guess is not available anywhere in the world. However, I think it will be another world record to make such a pole!
