Well, a NEW new year to all!

Here's what my crystal ball has to say :

2006 -

Arab/Israeli Conflict : The snowball shall keep rolling. And yep, you guessed it, there is always snow ahead.

Terrorism : Followers of Wafa Bin Laden are forgiven.

Economy : This one is too tough for a crystal ball.

Oil Prices : Does anyone know how to make oil boil?

Celebrity Scandals: The word "Celebrity" will be omitted. Scandals rule! Hey, something has to keep this nation reading. Gossip magazines are not made for nothing.

Leaders Death (or born, May God Bless Their Soul) :

1-The definition of the word "leader" is modified in every dictionary into " Person who is either too evil, too dumb or too cowardly enough to drive his people into deep "manure". ( well, it's in a dictionary what do you suppose?)

2- An arab nation elects a female leader. ( let's see if the definition holds its modification)

Iraq : Which one? :(

Syria : Has been a great movie in 2005. Looking forward for the sequel.

Sport : All sport figures become singers.

New Technology (God Forbid) : I'm not sure about technology but I do hope researches finally point at the cure for cancer and/or AIDS.

Arab/Arab Conflicts : Did I say Syria was a good movie?

New Guinness Records (e.g. sleeping) : GW Bush gets the Guinness record of making the greatest number of dumb decisions per year.

*NEW* Nobel Prizes: At least one Nobel prize for an arab.. Literature.

Best World Event: See the Worst World Event.

Worst World Event : Do you really think there are any BEST events left?

Best National Event : I'll go with Haitham's Flip!

Worst National Event : .. and FLOP!

Personal Predictions : I die in an explosion in Beirout.

Merry Christmas to all Christians & Happy New Year to all of you. I enjoyed reading your predictions Haitham. Here are mine, not very optimistic:
Arab/Israeli Conflict: Tthere'll be some signs & promises of a fair resolution, while Israel creates more ideas to enjoy torturing & killing Palestinians.
Terrorism: if you mean what "War on terror" is marketing, then Arab countries will suffer more sanctions and maybe war on more countries. While REAL terrorism will increase!
Economy: Arabs will remain the milk-cow, while most of Arab countries will suffer worse economical conditions with more debts and lack of employment chances.
Oil prices: will keep falling or remain as low as they are now.
Celebrity Scandals: Headlines of scandlas will read: Artist(X) is still covering some of her body!
Leaders Death (or born): can't predict...
Iraq: "Afganistan, Iraq! that's old news, give me something new"
Syria: More sanctions, maybe war!
Sport: Will remain Nr.1 activity to keep Arabs away from what's really happening!
New Technology: we'll keep hearing about "this" coming from non-Arab countries, and we'll pay fortunes to get an imitation of it!
Arab conflicts: Arabs will prove professionalism and will always keep us amused with their new conflicts!
New Guinness Records: I think your comment Haitham is the best.
Best World Event: Peace.
Worst World Event: War & Natural disasters.
Best National Event: Economical Independency.
Worst National Event: Economical Dependency on foreign non-Arab countries.
Personal Predictions: I'll change my job! (Inshallah)

Sume...

Economy: Arab countries will unify their efforts and realize their potential of being a true, independant economic power to rival the west. I have no idea what I just said.

Don't worry, no body will understand this. It is too sophisticated
phenomena, occurrence rate 1/10000000000000 years!!!

Oil Prices: Oil prices will continue to rise forcing the U.S. to invade more countries. Rumors of oil discoveries in Bekaa will drive the U.S. to invade Lebanon, but due to faulty intelligence, they won't realize it was actually olive oil.

Lol... good one

Syria: Will remain in Lebanon and Pres. Lahud will miraculously get another three years.

It was always said that the best part to visit in Syria is "Lebanon".

New Guinness Records: Bahrain will actually be able hang that largest flag on that highest pole making it the only flag visible from orbit.

Unfortunately that will not happen unless Bahrain occupies Jordan,
cause the pole is in Jordan :-)

Personal Predictions: I will actually make it to Bahrain. Oh yeah, and I will turn 35 at midnight Jan 1st, 2005.

This is the best part. I would like to have the honor to be the first to wish you HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Looking forward to meet you in Bahrain...

Here's my attempt and I do stress "attempt"!

Arab/Israeli Conflict: Haitham, you're too pessimistic. I predict a solution by 3003, Insha'Allah!

Terrorism: Unfortunately due the lack of intelligence in the Intelligence agencies, terrorism will be further defined as "appearing to be Muslim or Arab" to legitimize the harrassment and numerous arrests of Muslims and Arabs. I hope I don't sound bitter.

Economy: Arab countries will unify their efforts and realize their potential of being a true, independant economic power to rival the west. I have no idea what I just said.

Oil Prices: Oil prices will continue to rise forcing the U.S. to invade more countries. Rumors of oil discoveries in Bekaa will drive the U.S. to invade Lebanon, but due to faulty intelligence, they won't realize it was actually olive oil.

Celebrities: Lebanese will continue take over the media in Arab world.

Leaders Death (or born, May God Bless Their Soul): I have no idea, but I hope for the best!

Iraq: Insha'Allah, the world will realize that cutting and pasting Western idea's on Iraq doesn't work. Iraq will be allowed to come up with a form of "democracy" that works for Iraqis and not for the agendas of others

Syria: Will remain in Lebanon and Pres. Lahud will miraculously get another three years.

New Technology: Will probably be too expensive for me to buy. I predict I will be buying this year's new technology next year.

Arab/Arab Conflicts: They will analyse the situation.

New Guinness Records: Bahrain will actually be able hang that largest flag on that highest pole making it the only flag visible from orbit.

Best World Event: Peace

Worst World Event: More War

Best National Event: Nadar will actually win the next Presidential election.

Worst National Event: That already happened and will continue to get worse until the next presidental election.

Personal Predictions: I will actually make it to Bahrain. Oh yeah, and I will turn 35 at midnight Jan 1st, 2005.
