Lol, I don’t take anything personally Haitham :) I was just commenting with what I thought… I actually prefer Star Academy over Super Star. My attention span is tiny, and Star Academy manages to grasp mine much better.

Forgot to mention that I love watching Super Star. IMHO, the gap between the two shows is huge. At least you hear real voices and the outcome is ART. For that, I don’t think that it’s necessary to watch the nominees while they are in the bedroom!

Don’t take it personal Roba. I’m not judging anyone here, all what I’m saying is that there are better ways for entertainment than watching something that adds nothing to our culture!

In fact I will feel guilty if people don’t watch it, just because it’s a revenue generating machine for telecom industry that I work in ;-)

You know Haitham, as a person who doesn’t watch TV, but who managed to get hooked on Star Academy, I tell you, you don’t have the right to judge the people who watch it. It’s actually a fascinating program, displaying the perfect example of the political and financial platforms of the Arab world. Like yesterday for example, how do they get rid of Anas who was voted in twice so far? Put a Gulfian, yes, the Gulf are rich, they will vote for him. And they did.
I’m guilty for enjoying cheap entertainment, sue me.

I call it “Lowest Common Denominator.” People who can afford to sit for hours to watch such shows are really board in life and have nothing serious to worry about. What values does such shows add to us? Aren’t they a big time and money waster? I mean if you can vote and sms as much as your redial button and cell phone bill will allow!!

There’s something weird about this whole reality TV thing. I know many people who criticize it all the time, however they are hooked to it. It feels weird to find someone who says this thing is sh*t, but he/she watches it all the time.
