A bullet-riddled mirror reflects a Marine on watch inside a Fallouja home that was taken during an early morning mission. A shooter's view of a Fallouja street known as 'Sniper Alley' by U.S. Marines is void of any residents after it became a battleground during the siege of Fallouja with Marine snipers shooting anything that moved across their view. A Palestinian boy squeezes through a narrow gap in to wall erected by Israelis to control traffic flowing from Adu Dis into nearby Jerusalem. The wall has hampered Palestinians who travel into Jerusalem for work while easing Israeli fears of suicide bombers carrying out attacks. Vehicles and people stack up along the main road through the Gaza Strip after Israeli soldiers blocked the road for almost four hours after shots were fired near an Israeli settlement that dissects the northern and southern sections of the Gaza Strip. Palestinians clamour for a glimpse as the flag-draped body of a well-known militant is carried through the streets in preparation for burial. The militant was killed by Israeli troops, which have begun targeted assassinations of known militants as a way to protect Israeli citizens from future attack. Palestinian militants set fire to an Israeli flag, a protest against Israeli occupation. A young refugee entertains herself with the debris strewn about a refuse pile inside the Shatila refugee camp in Beirut, Lebanon. Very moving pictures, I specially loved the following:
1)The boy squeezing himself in the wall.
2)The girl surrounded with destruction and garbage.
    3)The head-injured boy.
4)The girl helped down the wall.

    Thanks for the pictures Haitham…

There are many stunning and impressive pictures out there. I just could not list all those I liked. I just selected few that speaks of my interest (Middle East, peace and war). However, majority of the pictures theme are of human misery. Something that really makes me sad. Of course there are endless incredible views in this life, but unfortunately the daily 'bad news' is occupying a big portion of our life.

    Peace on earth :-|
