Watching the daily news, I get bored. I can blindly guess what is going to be said. Here is some of the keywords: occupation, war, killed, terrorism, arrest, bomb, democracy, victims, Islam, oil, Arab, Americans, Bin Laden, Zarkawi, etc…
My conclusion is:
- Mark Twain once concluded, “the very ink with which all history is written is merely fluid prejudice.”
- A.J. Liebling once observed, “the press is free to those who own one.”
- French philosopher Paul Valery reminds us however, “history justifies whatever we want it to. It teaches absolutely nothing, for it contains everything and it gives examples of everything.”
- In Oct., 2001, an Israeli radio station reported that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, in a moment of pique towards his foreign minister, Shimon Peres, bellowed, “Don’t worry about American pressure (on Israel). We (the Jewish People) control America, and Americans know it”.
Remembering the above quotes, believe me you will never miss any (breaking) news. The difference will only be time, location and target. Other than that all remains the same.
Honestly, these news channels should find a new ways to present the news. Many people stopped watching TV because they are afraid to hear the same old/new bad news.

Unfortantely this is very true … and i’m one of those people that stopped watching News channels …
Nowadays they became some sort of soap opera series!! If you miss the news for a month or more .. and open one of the News TV channels, you will feel that you didn’t miss anything!
They may have been led to think that the Jewish People control America, but they surely don’t control the Vatican after their lastest statement from Rome.
I think if Sharon said that, he is living in the past. The Jewish vote and influence are not what they were.
Even at its height, the Jewish lobby was important but never “controlled” the USA. If it had, more Jewish refugees from Hitler would have been allowed in.
As the Jewish community includes a large number of people of exceptional ability, it is not surprising that it has had a big influence on the culture and politics of the USA. But I think the British-descent people have had a much bigger influence.
A flourishing Jewish community is a great asset to any country.
Not in my country, Palestine. The ‘flourishing Jewish community’ is nothing but occupiers, with all what the term carries from negative meanings…
Haithim, don’t fall into the trap of thinking this way. The bad guys win when people like you give up.
So, Palestine needs leaders of integrity from a new generation. When are you and others like you going to get involved? More than being a voice, but being a leader. Vote for Haithim to replace Abbas!
hehehe…
Good one
Anyway, I didn’t give up. Just depressed sometimes
No joke!
Lord God Almighty, I humbly ask that you would send someone to lift Haithim’s spirits, one of his kids with a hug or his wife with a smile, You know best. Please help him to carry on and be a voice and advocate for his people in a way that honors You. IJN, Amen
Unemployed cannot say I will stop going through classified ads seeking a vacancy, same goes for those who have a cause to defend and fight for, and this one is for you Haitham, as a Palestinian you dont’ have the luxury of abandoning news, or boycotting TV news stations, an Australian, or an Austrian can, because good for him no body dislocated his very being from the land of his ancestors and sent them into modern day diaspora, nobody deprived Srilankans, Afghanis, Iraqis, Somalis -or other people who happen to have civil wars going on in their countries- from the right to return to their homelands, after civil war is over, every body is back to where he belongs, except Palestinians they have no place to go. Nevertheless, no matter what I say Haitham, I cannot boost your morales because mine need some boosting too, but remember that “no news is good news”.
