Deal stopped over al-Qaeda link

Written by Haitham Sabbah on 13. October 2005, 1927hrs // Part of Haitham Sabbah's adventure in Bleeding Edge, Saudi Arabia // Other posts by Haitham Sabbah

Malawi has canceled a $30m fertilizer deal with a Saudi Arabian company with alleged links to al-Qaeda. Finance Minister Goodall Gondwe told parliament that the United States-based Citibank had refused to deal with the unnamed Saudi Arabian fertilizer firm because “they had al-Qaeda connections.”
hmm… a US bank controls Saudi economics?! If a US bank can make such judgments (which is obviously based on US official instructions), how come this Saudi company is still active? Do the want us to believe that Saudi knows and support al-Qaeda… Next…

What next?
