Jewish extremists entered Jerusalem’s Al Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s third holiest shrine, on October 19 escorted by Israeli police. 50 orthodox Jews from a group calling itself the Temple Mount Guardians performed religious rituals inside the mosque’s yard. The Jews entered the mosque compound following an Israeli high court decision, giving Jews the right to perform religious ceremonies there between 7 am and 9 am.

The Islamic Republic News Agency said:

Israeli occupation police on Wednesday allowed dozens of messianic Jewish extremists to enter and pray at the Al-Aqsa Mosque esplanade in occupied al-Quds.

Muslim Wakf sources said that as many as fifty Jewish extremists were allowed to enter the Haram al-Sharif esplanade Wednesday morning escorted by numerous soldiers and paramilitary policemen.

The incursion came two days after the Israeli High Court allowed members of the so-called Temple Mount Faithful to pray within the confines of the Haram al Sharif.

Eyewitnesses said the Jewish extremists were seen making rituals outside the Dome of the Rock Mosque and in other parts of the esplanade.

The Temple Mount Faithful is an Israeli terrorist group dedicated to the destruction of Muslim and Christian holy places in Jerusalem and the building of a Jewish temple on the site of al-Masjidul Aqsa.

Muslim leaders in Jerusalem condemned the Israeli court decision, calling it a clear provocation.

“This is a clear provocation. This is an exclusively Islamic shrine, Jews and other non-Muslims have no right to pray there,” said a statement released by the Al-Aqsa Foundation for the renovation of Islamic holy places in Palestine.

The foundation warned that allowing Jews to pray at the Aqsa Mosque esplanade was only the first of an Israeli plan to partition the Islamic Holy place, considered to be Islam’s third holiest.

In 2000, a provocative “visit” to the al-Aqsa by Zionist prime Minister Ariel Sharon, then opposition leader, sparked off the Aqsa Intifada.

According to IsraelNationalNews claims:

The Al Jazeera Arab site has accused “dozens of Jewish extremists” of storming the Al Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount and clashing with Moslem guards. The charge was made after the worshippers won a court appeal allowing them to pray on the Temple Mount between for a short time.

Mosque director Mohamed Hussein was quoted as saying, “…the court’s decision, could lead to dangerous results.”

On Monday, the eve of the Sukkot holiday, the High Court of Justice handed down a ruling officially permitting Jews to pray on the Temple Mount but stipulated that prayers must conclude by 9 a.m. in order to prevent a confrontation with Moslems, who usually arrive at that time.

But if you read Al Jazeera report you’ll find this:

“An Israeli police spokesman in Jerusalem denied there was “any change of policy with regard to the status of mosques at the Temple Mount.”

“The status quo remains unchanged, we only allowed these people to enter as tourists from 7.30 to 9.30, and as far as I know they didn’t indulge in any religious activity there,” said police spokesman Gil Shmueli.

So, did they pray or they did not? I don’t think that’s the issue. The issue is the Supreme Court ruling officially permitting Jews to pray on Al-Aqsa. One has to remember that this is what they initially did with regard to the Ibrahimi mosque in Hebron. They allowed Jews to visit, and then the visits evolved into ‘arrangements’ and eventually the bulk of the mosque was converted into a synagogue.

Looking at such news, it reminded me of Taliban. What is the similarity difference between Taliban (who destroyed Buddha statues), and the Temple Mount Guardians (who wants to destroy Al-Aqsa to build their Temple)? More hate, more reasons to escalate tension and spread struggle.
