Interesting!

Let's define Freedom and Laptops here:

Intel plant at "Qiryat Gat" is built on land Israel confiscated from the Palestinian villages of "Iraq al Manshiya". Iraq al Manshiya was a village of 2000 people living in 300 houses with two mosques and one school. The original Palestinian inhabitants were terrorised (Israel definition of "freedom") out of the village and then the whole village was razed to the ground to prepare the way for the new israeli settlement of Qiryat Gat. Today the remaining population from Iraq al Manshiya is still not allowed to return.

This is your freedom and technology theory, Matt!

I Stand for Israel Because Israel Stands for Freedom. If any of you want to boycott Israeli, please return your laptop computer chips, your cell phones, and your instant messengers at the door to Tel Aviv. (All of the base technology for these products were created in Israel).

Well said Haitham.

However, I'm not sure a Nobel Prize in economics should be denied based on political views. The Peace Prize, yes...but I would be uncomfortable if the issue was just the political views of these individuals. The real issue, I think, is whether this "game theory" has applicability for society outside of military strategy. I would oppose the granting of the Nobel Prize based on the nominee's military "contributions" alone because that is not, in my opinion, what the Nobel Prize in Economics is supposed to be for. The science of economics is supposed to benefit societies, not destroy them. I'll look into this some more. Thanks for posting it.

Hehe...

Israel, Iran and Tunisia not giving you back your property is not my problem, it is yours, I don't have to pay for your problem, and you are just repeating exact crime on Palestinians, exact to the one you are suffering from.

When we talk politics with Arabs in Israel, they say, 'My grandfather used to live in Tel Aviv, and now it's owned by Jewish people -- we want to come back,' so I respond, 'My parents came from Iran and Tunisia, but nobody is going to give our property back to us. It's all been confiscated . . . We have this little sandbox we call Israel. We give our hearts and lives to make it a proud country. Every one serves in the Israeli Defense Force in order for Israel to survive. You have half of the globe. What the fuck do you want from us? Go live in Saudi Arabia.'
