Oh, my God, that’s so cute
Reminds me of my childhood. Ah, Gulf, sweet Gulf.
Katakeet. I posted pictures of my baby in his Halloween outfits. So cut.
Oh, my wife was just asking me. She wondered when people in Bahrain started celebrating Halloween. Being Saudi she wasn’t aware that this was done in the Gulf. Is it widely celebrated? When I lived in England it was done a bit there, a lot more when I was in Ireland, where the holiday originated.
Some European cities have banned the holiday worrying about American influence.
Just wondering a bit about the history of halloween in the Gulf. Thanks.
hahaha,
really cute! I don’t know, but my nephew got a halloween costume party each DAY! Back in Jordan! I mean, its so funny, he’s like dressed as Superman. Goes for a while, and comes back in SpiderMan outfit. I ask him “Wein SuperMan?” he says “No, Superman mush 7elew…ana ba7eb Spider–woosh” LOL
I miss u gougou :’(
omar
Great kids you have..
Thanks everyone
Abu Sinan,
Well, I guess Halloween in Bahrain is celebrated everywhere you have a group of foreigners living next to each others. In the compound that I live in, we have 20 villas, each occupied by a family from one part of the world, East to West. So, what we actually do is involve all in everyone’s festivals. For example, we all celebrated Gergeoun (???????), Diwali, and now Halloween. In few days, all Muslims and non Muslims here, will celebrate Eid.
I find it interesting for my kids as well other kids to understand each others culture and meaning to live and share all the moments in life.
Abu Sinan, I’ve celebrated Halloween in Riyadh in the early 90’s. The Gulf is so globalized you celebrate Everything!
Sounds great. That was the same reason we had it in England, Americans there.
Darling kids, Haithim! We enjoy celebrating our friends’ holidays, too. My 3rd looked pretty convincing as a sheik celebrating Day of the Arab Child a couple weeks back. Tomorrow we’ll be baking moon and star Ramadan sugar cookies for our neighbors.
We’re American, but don’t celebrate Halloween. We have an alternative party to celebrate the Harvest, God’s provision for the year, and dress up and eat fun goodies. I used to be involved in Wicca (white witchcraft)before becoming Christian, and Wiccans make Halloween into a scary, wierd event.
Haitham - the world wants to know - what did you dress up as?
hehehe… You don’t want to know, Ethan. Trust me
But anyway, it was dark, so no body noticed. And if you insist, I’ll bring it to London next month to show you, as I’m always “WEARING” it
