So again like last year, let me start by wishing all my Christian friends and brothers a Merry Christmas and wish everyone a Happy New Year. Hope it brings a fresh hope and new resolutions to us all.
Amal has beaten me in her predictions for 2006 (and she made me laugh to death), but it is never too late. So here we go again.
2006 holds a few challenges and everyone will be directly touched by his history and looking forward for better future. However, we all know that history in general has been one of many deadly conflicts. Personal or Universal progress is not without pain and suffering, and historically, human past points more to war than peace (unfortunately).
Let’s try to make some predictions for 2006. Being pessimistic or optimistic, funny or serious, all up to you.
Here are some categories (updated), but don’t limit yourself. If you like to add more, please be my guest!
The Categories (in no specific order):
- Arab/Israeli Conflict
- Terrorism
- Economy
- Oil Prices
- Celebrity Scandals
- Leaders Death (or born, May God Bless Their Soul)
- Iraq
- Syria

- Arab/Arab Conflicts
- New Guinness Records (e.g. sleeping)
- Best World Event
- Worst World Event
- Best National Event
- Worst National Event
- Personal Predictions
New categories:
-
Awards Predictions:
- Super Star (Future SuperStar)
- Star Academy
- Al-Wadi
- Most Beautiful People
- Assassination of the year
- Profession of the year
- Next
nondemocratic country in the region
PS. I’ll copy/paste Amal’s predictions into comments here to give you some inspiration.

Well, a NEW new year to all!
Here’s what my crystal ball has to say :
2006 -
Arab/Israeli Conflict : The snowball shall keep rolling. And yep, you guessed it, there is always snow ahead.
Terrorism : Followers of Wafa Bin Laden are forgiven.
Economy : This one is too tough for a crystal ball.
Oil Prices : Does anyone know how to make oil boil?
Celebrity Scandals: The word “Celebrity” will be omitted. Scandals rule! Hey, something has to keep this nation reading. Gossip magazines are not made for nothing.
Leaders Death (or born, May God Bless Their Soul) :
1-The definition of the word “leader” is modified in every dictionary into ” Person who is either too evil, too dumb or too cowardly enough to drive his people into deep “manure”. ( well, it’s in a dictionary what do you suppose?)
2- An arab nation elects a female leader. ( let’s see if the definition holds its modification)
Iraq : Which one?
Syria : Has been a great movie in 2005. Looking forward for the sequel.
Sport : All sport figures become singers.
New Technology (God Forbid) : I’m not sure about technology but I do hope researches finally point at the cure for cancer and/or AIDS.
Arab/Arab Conflicts : Did I say Syria was a good movie?
New Guinness Records (e.g. sleeping) : GW Bush gets the Guinness record of making the greatest number of dumb decisions per year.
*NEW* Nobel Prizes: At least one Nobel prize for an arab.. Literature.
Best World Event: See the Worst World Event.
Worst World Event : Do you really think there are any BEST events left?
Best National Event : I’ll go with Haitham’s Flip!
Worst National Event : .. and FLOP!
Personal Predictions : I die in an explosion in Beirout.

I think that 2006 will be the year that governments lose the battle against freedom of speech.

Well nothing matters anyway. Since I am 12 years old I say that June 2006 is the end of the world. A couple of years ago some theologist calculated some stuff and cam out with the result that 2006 is the end of the world.
I say that 6th of June 2006….was nice to know you all
it couldn’t be a more perfect date (06.06.06)
