Here comes another great project. Dawwen! (blog .command verb)

Similar to the toot, but with different approach and from different entry point.

This project focus on Arabic speaking blogs mainly, although that does not seem to me the main objective, as English blogs are also present. Beside hand picked blogs, and handpicked posts from these blogs, which toot also practice; posts from aggregated blogs are archived on Dawwen by keywords, both, Arabic as well English keywords. This has an advantage over toot in the sense that archived posts can be searched. Yet, toot offer the option of voting, which I personally do not like, as it’s not clear so far how it is designed to be functioning in terms of period a post is featured, time of the day, number of votes per reader, interval, and finally ranking based on all of these unclear bases. But again, toot is still on beta, so giving it benefit of the doubt, I guess we might see more soon.

Back to Dawwen, although the project is still on beta, and launched less than 24 hours ago, eleven blogs are already listed there under 182 subject, with 559 keywords. Of course this is as of writing this post.

The keywording archive bases are divided to two parts, one is keywords per blog, and another is per posts. This is fair, and should give more listing of posts and blogs under more keywords.

The project design is nice and clean and looks easy to use. Of course, everything directed right-to-left, just as you can expect an Arabic blog to be.
