In an interesting move, the Israel News Agency has decided to post some Holocaust cartoons and launched an SEO – Internet search engine optimization marketing contest to prevent Iran and Islam terrorist groups news Websites (as they claim) from reaching top positions in Google. According to INA, this is the first time that a SEO contest was created for a political and humanitarian cause.
And the INA has secured Olympic gold in its quest to outrank any and all Arab and Islam Websites as when one searches for the key words: "iran holocaust cartoons" the Israel News Agency has secured a Google first place ranking.
So, since I'm an Arab/Muslim, regardless of what I say and advocate for, I'm outranked. Thanks to INA, SEO and Google!!!
The Israel News Agency uploaded four Holocaust cartoons from Iran today. One cartoon doubted that the murdered Holocaust victims were Jewish, another depicted Anne Frank in bed with Adolph Hitler.
So, INA yesterday uploaded four Holocaust cartoons claiming that they are from Iran. After looking at them, and by following a link from their website to Anti-Defamation League website, which suppose to show the "Arab media trashes Judaism almost daily", I found that one of the cartoons which they claim to be from Iran is published at ADL with a quote under it that says "Web Site of the Arab European League (February 2, 2006)." So, unless Arab European League is now officially converted to Iranians, I can't swallow the lie. Here is the cartoon:

INA says it's from Iran, and ADL says it's from Arab European League. Whom should I believe? It could be from anyone, else!
This made me sit and wonder, what is INA is really after? Spreading lies which unfortunately probably hundreds of thousand who read their press-release must have believe their claims that the cartoon is from Iran. Note, I'm not defending Iran, and don't see what they are doing to be the right, yet, spreading lies to show that you are the good boy and they are the bad one is also not acceptable.
Back to INA press release, let's continue reading…
"When I heard that a newspaper in Iran was now holding a cartoon contest on the Holocaust, I knew that SEO would be the most potent tool in combating it," said Joel Leyden, publisher of the Israel News Agency. "That 12 winners in Iran would have their Holocaust cartoons published and would receive two gold coins (worth about $140 each) as a prize, I cocked and loaded my keyboard. The words "disgusting" and "despicable" do not even begin to describe the barbaric response of how Iran reacted to cartoons of Mohammed coming from an irresponsible and insensitive newspaper in Denmark.
Now you call it irresponsible? Well, if I may remind you, just like the so many European and Arab newspapers who published the infamous Danish cartoons, many Israeli newspapers did that too. I'm mentioning this because someone previously said that they didn't and will not. Well, the truth is that they did, e.g. Jerusalem Post. Full list here.
What really puzzles me is that the Arab media trashes Judaism almost daily in their newspapers and yet we do not hear Jews chanting death to Muslims. But still there is no way that Iran will be allowed to spit on the graves of over 6 million Jews who perished in the Holocaust."
Well, you don't chant for Muslims death, you actually do it and that's it, Leyden. It's not the subject here anyway!
The Israel News Agency is asking every SEO advertising marketing professional to create Web pages and optimize the keywords: "Iran Holocaust Cartoon Contest" in order to prevent the Iran newspapers, the enemies of Israel, the Jews, the Christians and Western democracy from attaining a high Google and Google News position. The SEO contestants will wrap these keywords around their comments of how Iran has sponsored Islam suicide bombing terror attacks against innocent men, women and children in Israel. Iran directly funds the activities of the terrorist groups Hamas and Hizbullah.
Hate speech I would say. But then, this is his job I guess, very bad (good) style.
If I may use the same context; wouldn't it be right to say: "…how U.S. sponsored Jewish terrorist army and settlers attacks against innocent men, woman and children in Palestine. U.S. directly funds the activities of the terrorist Israeli army and terrorist settlers groups."
Now that sounds offending if I were a Jew. I'll be called anti-Semitic if I say the above, but its fine if other use that language in talking about Islam. You see, you can offend Muslims and Arab, and that will be called "freedom of speech", but don't dare calling occupation as terrorist, otherwise you will be tagged anti-semitic.
"This is a test for SEO professionals in every democratic nation who have a rich background in public relations, marketing and advertising HTML SEO programming to make their mark and illustrate their power," said Leyden. "On-line news sites do not optimize their news stories with search engine optimization SEO technology and as a result their stories get lost in cyberspace. Rather than SEO the keywords "seraphim proudleduck", SEO PR professionals should now concentrate on "iran holocaust cartoons" and bury the racist Iran information PR war of incitement among Muslims world-wide."
Very well. In fact I can see that the Iran Daily newspaper – Hamshahri, is already down. Could it be that too many visitors caused system crash? Could it be hijacked by hackers? God knows, but no matter what it is, I'm sure that this issue will not be won by anyone. We all are losing, Jews, Christians and Muslims. This is ridiculous, and driving everyone to the edge!

Shalom Haitham,
Pay no attention to those stupid people. Instead, pay close attention to THOSE smart stupid people:
Israeli group announces anti-Semitic cartoons contest!
A Danish paper publishes a cartoon that mocks Muslims.
An Iranian paper responds with a Holocaust cartoons contest.
Now a group of Israelis announce their own anti-Semitic cartoons contest!

Free speech can't be divided … it's either with/or without boundaries, when you believe that publishing 12 cartoons depicting the prophet of the 1 billion Muslims promotes the 'free speech and freedom of the press ', then considering the holocaust as a myth should follow the same rule.
That is the old "one law for them and another law for us." Muslims, Islam and Middle Easterners are fair game now. Freedom of speech only exist for those who want to attack the right people. The Iran move is stupid, but I understand its reasoning.
There is NO freedom of speech, it is a sham, a lie. There is only the freedom to attack religion, except for Judaism, and the right to attack anything dealing with Islam, Arabs, or the Middle East.
The Western media is a joke. When a Israeli child dies there are lengthy interviews with the family, we all learn their names and see pictures. When a Palestinian child dies, if it is mentioned, a lengthy explaination of why the child deserved to die comes from the Western media. It makes me sick.
There seems to be some confusion. Freedom of speech is not the same thing as freedom from criticism. The issue is: what are the consequences associated with the speech?
The consequences of printing hateful and offensive cartoons about Jews or Christians or Danes or Americans is criticism in the form of more speech.
The consequences of printing hateful and offensive cartoons about Islam are death threats, riots, arson, and more.
Which reaction demonstrates an understanding of free speech and which reaction demonstrates a disinterest in free speech?
An acceptance of free speech requires the understanding that some speech will be blasphemy according to some religions and some speech will be eloquent and some speech will be false and self serving and some speech will be humorous and some will be critical and some will be full of praise and some will be offensive and some will be flattering, some will be lies, and some will be truths.
so, you've been offended by a cartoon depicting Islam as a violent, intolerant religious/political system antithetical to western values. where were your shocked and offended voices in the immediate aftermath of 911, the Malaysia bombings, the london bombings, the madrid bombings, the paris riots? These were all acts declared to be in the name of Islam. that didnt defile Islam or offend your tender sensibilities? Instead, you seem intent on quibbling and whining about whether you now have tacit permission to offend Jews, deny the holocaust, riot, threaten, or kill in response to cartoons. Islamic life imitating offensive art. what irony.
first, thank you for marking out this issue,
it's what is meant by double standerd policy and philosophy which the west embraces…for the first time i think that what the iranians did wasn't that bad, actually it's kind of smart, take your freedom's feedback…! i can't imagine how could anyone dare to criticize what the iranians did in the name of racism! anyhow, i couldn't understand what 'Hanan cohen' is trying to say also, but i can't just forget what you have marked as she wants us to.
"double standard policy and philosophy?!" Please. Israel's effort to design a site to maximize google hits is something that goes on every day in the marketplace and on the web. You're not being "outranked", you're being out smarted. Is that against Islam too? First, you want immunity from criticism, and now you shouldnt be subjected to competition for ideas. Time to get out of the 14th Century.
"From OmAr: i can’t imagine how could anyone dare to criticize what the iranians did in the name of racism!"
I love the fact that Iran pipes in only after it gets good press, 3 months after the fact. And they don't go after the ones who did the cartoon's, they go after Israel. You are right OmAr, it is not racism they are just trying to pick a fight.
What good can come out of this mess?
I wish we could bring a end to all of this and just live life. I would love to travel to more places in the world besides US and EU/Asia.
Rich—
I've been coming to this blog for some time and usually agree with the opinions expressed. Racism and anti-muslim ideals do exist here in the west. Most are unfounded and disgusting. however, there must be a distinction made between poking fun at a religous figure, and poking fun at the millions of deaths of someones family. respond by making fun of abraham or moses…I imagine no one would care. Why…because that would be childish overreacting. In the same way, if isreal responds to you with murdered or raped family members depicted in a cartoon…what would your reaction be. Can people for once be "adult" and have a civilized perpective! The danish cartoons were horrible and offensive…granted…but to respond with jokes about someones murdered family, what's wrong with people?? Maybe we should all start escalating this…I'll draw pictures of your loved ones being raped, you can draw pictures of my mother having sex with animals, I'll kill your people, you'll kill mine….then no one will have anything to complain about.
The Israelis should be given credit for taking a swift and intellectual approach to this absurd Iranian idea.
They have simply used the tools before them to make the distribution of these cartoons more difficult.
Instead of rioting in the streets, killing innocents, damaging their own living space and otherwise acting like bufoons, they have simply pushed a few buttons and erected a digital moat. Not a wall, a moat.
And before those who are eagerly anticipating a bit of good old fashioned anti-Semitism cry foul, don't worry. You'll get your monthy dose of Jew-bashing soon enough (this is really nothing new to the region is it? I mean it's hardly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity).
("Boo hoo, they've used their intelligence…No fair!", doesn't sound very good now does it?)
And let's not fool ourselves into thinking that their is truly any pairity in these cases anyway, friends.
-Making a claim that radical Islam is a ticking time-bomb ready to explode at any moment is an opinion. (and based on the recent and violent cartoon fallout, it's a defendable one).
-Claiming that the Holocaust never occured is simply a lie. It is a simple misstatement of history.
The latter is not about free exchange of opinion, it's about the freedom to be dead wrong over and over and over again.
Why some would proudly rejoice in a retelling of that falsehood is another matter.
At the end of the day, I have little doubt that anyone who wishes to see the bizarre Iranian stab at gallows humour will have an opportunity to do so.
But what I want to know is, how will the Danish react to this germaine counter assault?
I mean, they WERE the one's who produced the first cartoons, right? Yes? No?
Oh, I forgot, that doesn't matter anymore.
Somehow this is now about taking aim at the Jews. How very nice.
Will wonders never cease…
Ali,
I like your self deprecating humor..:)
Don't worry. The Bush Admin. is worried about China. Eventually you will be next. In due time. You are just radicals and terrorists. You are now on the bottom of the list.
That was my sarcastic reply for the month.
they do need anti semitism to stay in palestine, probably in their best interests to spread anti semitic bullshit, considering it is their basis for maintaining occupation.
