The point I think is the scapegoating of muslims today have similarities to what was said about jews in most of europe and united states in the early 1930s. In denmark like in many other countries in europe there have been a vicious campaign from the right against muslims.
That said political groups or states in the muslim world seems to have used the anger over the cartoons for there own purposes also.
