Today Haaretz report: Army would free prisoners without 'blood on their hands' in exchange for soldier.
IMHO, this is nothing more than a trial balloon, a statement that somebody in the IOF wants a way to step back from the brink.
Lets look closely at the specific conditions and on certain types of Palestinian prisoners to be released:
The defense establishment is prepared to release Palestinian prisoners who have not been convicted of hostile terror activity, if a deal is reached with Hamas on the release of Shalit and bringing calm to the Gaza-Israel border.
The IDF said it would not support a deal that would release terrorists "with blood on their hands," but only those who have not been involved in planning or carrying out terror attacks. The army would be willing to release individuals who are being held under the Prevention of Terrorism Ordinance, such as Hamas ministers and members of the Palestinian Legislative Council, as well as security prisoners jailed for relatively minor offenses, such as belonging to terrorist organizations.
The number of prisoners released is less important to the IDF than the type of prisoners, and there are no plans to repeat the actions of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who freed ordinary Palestinian criminals to fulfill his part of the Wye Accords.
It is very clear now that the wave of kidnappings of Hamas officials, ministers and dozens of other activists in the last few days was meant for just this deal. But this is an obvious con job and does not go far enough.
However, it seems that there is a hope for solution, but note here that the Palestinian have the right (and in fact should) to use the same tactic related to the type of prisoners. The Israeli soldier (this and all of IOF) has Palestinian blood on his hands, so he is no better than any Palestinian in Israeli jails. Thus, releasing him should not be for anything less than ALL prisoners under 18, ALL women and ALL prisoners who have not been charged and found guilty of anything ( FYI that's like 99% of those in concentration camps today).
On the other hand, Israel should also pay to all what it damaged (when $ is not an issue and taxpayers are in coma) and rebuild the bridges, the power stations, water treatment plants, etc…
I'm afraid that people on the street would not respect any agreement that does not take these two issues into consideration and add to them that Israel should not hold Palestinian taxes and should allow money to be transferred to the Palestinian government, so people can get their salaries.
Then we can talk about a deal.
Yes, talking is better than killing, but, if killing is all what Israel wants, be sure that Palestinians are ready for it, not because they want to die, but because they don't have any better option.
I never felt stirred by an "IOF operation" it always showed lack of prudence on the other side. So it is a matter of changing tactic for the brave Palestinians to show this "army" its real effectiveness. Palestinians will die? They are dying anyway, better die while teaching the Israeli terrorists something, even if it does not liberate my land.
I'm no warmonger, but it is a war whether I like it or not, and this is how Israel is dealing with the Palestinians for decades now, so why I should always be asked to be the dove, carrying the olive leaf, seeking mercy and peace, while the Israeli terrorist snipers are in every corner waiting for the next victim to show it's head? Child, women, innocents, disabled, no matter whom they are, it is enough being a Palestinian to become a target. So, it is better I die for a cause, while using my right to resist the occupation than dying doing nothing.
Israel claimed deal is nothing better than anything they offered before. In fact it just proves what it best does. Terrorism!
The same article said:
In exchange for a Palestinian commitment to stop these activities, the deal calls for the IDF to stop operating in Gaza, while reserving the right of defense and the right to foil terror attacks. The IDF also wants a "sleep balance" between Sderot and Gaza: If the children of Sderot can't sleep due to fear of Qassam rockets, Israel will disrupt the sleep of Gaza children.
"Sleep balance"? What? The IDF also wants a "sleep balance"?
This is nothing but a collective punishment, war crime, and terrorism, plain and simple. What balance are you talking about? Gaza is part of Palestine, not whole of Palestine. So, if a kid is injured in Tulkarem, it is as much important for a Palestinian in Gaza as it was and will always be.
And what balance? When Gazans' sleeps while the terrorist army of Israel is attacking West Bank, with all its tanks, air force, etc… Is this an acceptable balance? Gaza go to sleep? Is there any rational man who can accept this? It is nonsense, period.
It is time to remind the world again and again, you are talking about "The Occupied Holy Land", and it is stated and agreed in all religions, traditions, cultures and human made agreements that, resisting the occupier is a granteed right, and protecting the civilians by the occupier is also a duties that they should respect. So, enough of blaming the victim and supporting the criminals.
You want to talk about a deal? You want to live in peace? Okay!
Let me tell you one 'stupid idea', called "LIBRATION FROM OCCUPATION". GO OUT OF MY LAND! This is the only deal, then we can talk. Then you can live in Peace!!

I agree with the last paragraph indeed. Allahu Akbar!
Brother, have you read the book written by the late Dr. Ismail Al-Faruqi (he is an American-Palestinian), "Islam and the Problem of Israel"? Considering that this book was written in 1980, it is amazing that his analysis of the situation is applicable to today. And so is his conclusion.
Wassalam.

Well, well. The Zionist occupiers actually said this. It seems they are getting a little sloppy in their coverup of their true intentions. The only problem with their saying this to the world is that it is THEY who disrupt the Palestinian children's sleep every single night with the nightmares they impose on them. Palestinian children live every single day not knowing when Israel might lob a rocket, an EFFECTIVE rocket, that although is effective in it's action, does not always hit only the intended target. How many pictures of injured and dead Palestinian children, their mothers, their fathers, do we see on a regular basis? I deplore killing, by ANYONE, but honestly, get real and look at the facts in this matter. I do not want ANY children to suffer from lack of sleep. But it seems the Israeli's don't have a problem saying this, that they will target the children.
NOTHING more need be said.
Here is a very good article written by David Hardaker, a western journalist who wanted to see just how easy it is to sleep at night in the home of a Palestinian in Gaza. It also tells of the damage from the constant sonic booms.

So much for "sleep balances"!!
let me guess, and there might be an any way children convicted of terrorism?? strange world

If you have come to this site in search of news concerning the situation in Gaza you will learn that there is much suffering being experienced by the civilian population there. At times like these, the children are particularly vulnerable. Many are lying in hospitals suffering from wounds incurred in this present situation which has been going on particularly hard since the shelling on the beach of Gaza by an Israel missile ?gone astray? which killed seven members of one family. There are children in the hospitals in Gaza suffering from all sorts of health afflictions who are not receiving the medicines they need. My premature babies are at risk of dying as well as severely ill children. The power plants have been bombed and the water is in great shortage. No matter what your politics, I am sure that no one wishes for children to suffer under these circumstances. There is an organization in Berkley, CA called the Middle East Children?s Alliance which was founded to support the needs of children suffering from the various situations in the Middle East. Currently they are trying to raise the moneys necessary to ship medicines to the children in Gaza. You can send your tax-free donations to the following address:
MECA
901 Parker Street
Berkley, CA 94710
*Gaza meds memo*
or you can contact them online here:

Please, if you are from North America, find it in your heart to make a donation no matter how small to this organization which is working so hard to bring help to the children there. Thank you
