    DONE.

  • 15 July, 2006, 23:53

Done, and blogged about. Thanks Haitham.

A few words to those who vote Yes. You have just expressed your willingness to justify acts of terrorism against civilian populations.

Sabbah, the jews say that it is because of them the christianity and islam have come into existence. They think that they are above all. They are the superior race. That is what they say, like how the british and the germans narcistically declare. our civilian population in israeli concentration camps (Prisons) would see the freedom ?. The value of life in the new world of democracy and freedom is priced at the tip of the gun. Thats how it works in cow boy land.

  • 16 July, 2006, 12:02

I voted. I have just been watching CNN, clearly a BIASED newscast. Nick Roberts, reporting live says to this affect, “Considering the size of the Israeli onslaught there are relatively FEW civilian casualities.” I am so PISSED I cannot stand it. How many are few to him considering there are now estimated at 119 from what I could find in the latest report,
    http://nation.ittefaq.com/artman/publish/article_29199.shtml
Israel has now suffered FOUR civilian casualties and 11 military personnel according to this mornings LA Times. Sorry, eight more Israeli citizens dead http://www.inthenews.co.uk/news/news/international-affairs/hizbullah-haifa-strike-leaves-eight-dead-444905.htm How many Gazan civilian casualties? The estimates vary on civilians vs “militants” but the number is reaching the 200 mark.
    How FEW are dead?
Yet CNN remains focused on the fright that the Israelis are suffering.
I’m sorry, I’m not “pro” killing ANYONE but who the HELL is more frightened here by the FOURTH LARGEST MILITARY POWER IN THE WORLD? Oh, and here’s another interesting fact. The US is considering evacuating their citizens and then CHARGING them for it. http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/07/15/lebanon.advisory/index.html “The Department of State reminds American citizens that the U.S. government does not provide no-cost transportation but does have the authority to provide repatriation loans to those in financial need. For the portion of your trip directly handled by the U.S. Government we will ask you to sign a promissory note and we will bill you at a later date.” I cannot F******G believe it!!!!! Who’s making the money on this one American idiots who don’t know what the hell they’re talking about when they believe our news coverage?
Apologies if this is not the right thread to post on. I am FUMING!!!!!! When our citizens get killed who are tourists there who is going to be blamed? BET YOUR LAST DOLLAR IT WON”T BE ISRAEL according to our government or CNN!!!!!

    The Results are killing…

I could write a program that will keep voting, but it’s not worthing..it’s not reliable as u said

  • 18 July, 2006, 8:57

Yes I have. Iran will fund and aid its allies in Lebanon (and Iraq) but it has been doing that anyway. It won’t intervene directly with its military, which is what a regional war would require. And no Arab nation wants to take on Israel directly (or the US for that matter). Of course anything is possible where humans are involved, but I think all the talk about regional war (much less world war) is extremely overblown.

Israel is not justified, they are the escalators and always are. Hizballah did not start the attacks, we dont know exactly what happened but after the kidnapping of the two soldiers ( not even sure if it was not planned by Israel) they immediately attack and escalate things, Hizballah or whoever else is not with Israel will always be called terrorists but are they really the terrorists or just people trying like all over peoples and populations to live in peace?

Will my vote count on the CNN ballot or whatever? Hope everyone votes NO, they are too big for their boots. I am not against the Jewish people just against the zionists who believe that they have the right to take Palestine and want to engulf the Arab world. God threw them out from their land, it is not anyones faults but themselves. Just like Eve got humanity thrown out of the Garden of Eden, and now we all are paying the price.

Israel should get out of Lebanon, out of Palestine! They have no place there and never will. Each bomb the drop, each gunshot fired, each act of harassment will be met with heavier resistence.

I just voted “no”, sure…but I think that all this is useless…it is no enought to go on the street (see the war in Iraq…) and it seams to be useless wating for the UE or UN doing something…I think we, common people, can do still something small…lets start stopping buy products from israel…maybe we can create a small embargo…maybe…

I am an average American citizen who feels the failed politics of the Bush Administration has led to the failed “peace” in the middle east. I will say that after watching the news, I am unsure what to think. We as Americans are told that Hezbollah is a terrorist organization, one that is responsible for the deaths of more than 200 US Marines in 1983, and then again the deaths of 19 US Airmen in Saudi Arabia. We are told of the many acts of terrorism that this group has been responsible for. I myself question why there is a weapon diplayed on the Hezbollah flag?? It does not send the right message. Now, before I get everyone here too upset, please know that I also see the destruction for which Isreal is responsible. I know that Isreal has a strong military force unmatched by any other state in the Middle East; I believe it is this that leads to intimadation by Isreal to achieve its political objectives. Only greed strikes war over border disputes! It does seem clear to me that if Isreal would have stopped this violence many years ago, that many of these terror cells would not even exist today. The fact is, I believe they were formed in the hopes of having a force to stop Isreal. So, in many ways I feel Isreal is responsible for the formation of terrorists groups in the region, even if so indirectly. I also feel that act os war in response to terrorism does not eliminate terrorists; it merely strengthens their hate, and produces new terrorist sects.
Like I said, I am just a regular person, somone who did not vote for Bush in either election, and am posting to give others a perspective of how the media skews American’s views. I try my best to do my own research and make my own conclusions, however, I still do not know what is right here. I just think people need to stop dying. I have small children, I am concerned for their future, I just wish our leaders were as concerned about the future of the world.

I vote yes, and I think the REAL question should be…Do you think the Lebanese people are responsible for for their own suffering by allowing a militia to use its territory to launch rockets into another country?

Again, I vote yes. This is the biggest problem with those who are suffering in this crisis….they have no problem with Israel being attacked from THEIR OWN BACKYARD, but cry when there is a response. WAKE UP. The solution is within your control. STOP THE TERRORISTS from using you like a pawn.

    Eve,
I understand your point of view, but obviously disagree with it. To say that the “failed politics of the Bush Administration has led to the failed ?peace? in the middle east.” completely ignores the historical record of this region. I would ask you this…do you think the “successful” policies of the Clinton admin also have led to this? What about Daddy Bush? Reagan? Carter? Don’t you see a pattern here? Is it too hard for you to say the obvious…this latest problem is caused by rockets being launched into Israel and their soldiers being kidknapped.

Now, I agree we could go back 1, 2 5, 20, 100 years and justify or deny ANY action by either side…I am not Jewish, so don’t think I am seeing this from their side only. I have lived in the Middle East (Kuwait) and have many Muslim friends now here in Texas, but I do see this for what it is…a radical group who will NEVER accept peace and who will only stop when first the Jewish state is dead and gone, then the Christians in Lebanon are dead and gone, then the Sunni’s, then the ……… see a pattern here????

    Aelizabeth,

Using your logic we see in your last post saying “we are all paying the price” because God threw the Jews out of their land…should we then “blame” women for biting the apple? Come on, think BEFORE you type. You really can’t believe what you said, can you?
