A new President in 2008 who is not racist? Who is that going to be? Hillary Clinton ? She is the most racist ultra-Zionist power mad xxx!! from hell!! Her statements on Iran, Iraq, Palestine and Lebannon are even more extreme than the Bush admin. She hates Arabs and Muslims she adores Israel and wants Iran bombed to pieces. Only this week she described Israeli actions in Lebannon as “defending American values” well she sure got that right. Just ask any American Indian they’ll confirm what those values are. She also said that all Americans should side with Israel, this was at a pro-Zionist rally outside the UN in NYC.
The other maybe candidate for US Prez Condi Rice refuses to advocate a ceasefire right now she wants Israel to have time to finish “them” off.
The first Presidential contest in US history that is likely to be between two women and they both support bombing children!!

I am an American, and I am ashamed of our country and our government for many, many different issues. Hopefully, we will have a new president in 2008 that is very different than Bush. Most americans are not racist, and want to see the people of the middle east to live in peace. In this country, we have every religion and race you could ever imagine, and we all get along. We respect each other, and we bring our children up to value every human life no matter what their religion or belief. My question to you is why cant you all get along? Why do you have to antagonize Isreal? They have a right to live on a tiny sliver of land. If everyone in that area would learn to respect each other even though you may not agree with each other. What I dont understand is these fanatics, who will willingly blow himself up to kill innocent people. That is barbaric!! If your people do not even value life enough to recognize self preservation. One of the most basic human needs is the drive, the natural instinct to preserve ones own life. Well then you have nothing. I guarantee if countries in the middle east would worry about their own problems, and work to better themselves and their countries and get along with yourselves and with your neighbors, the United States and Isreal would leave you alone. Many people in america believe that many Arabs and and Muslims cant even get along with each other, never mind your neighbors. One group attacks another to take revenge for something that happened 500 or 1000 years age. Please forgive and forget, and move on and grow as a country. And make the world proud and you will reap great rewards and acceptance in the world community. I am sure I am ignorant of many facets of life in your part of the world, as I have never been there. Just so you understand me completely, I DO know that Israel picked the war to begin with by their actions in Palestine and Lebanon. Perhaps they got in over their heads this time, but I absolutely mourn the massive loss of life and property no matter where the blame lies. I think you might have misunderstood me. I did not say Hizbollah had no right to exist. Rather what I am saying is that Hizbollah exists as it does as a result of Israel’s actions. I am fully cognizent (or at least I hope I come closer than most Americans) to understanding the totality of this situation. The asymetric warfare that Hizbollah wages is unconventional, but that does not mean it is not legitimate. If it were not for the utter greed and terrorism of the Zionist state, with the fourth largest military in the world, then entities such as this would not have a need to counterbalance. Please note that I am even more aware now than I was before of why Hizbollah is as respected as it is. When I said above that I’m pissed of at them it is not because of what they did in kidnapping the soldier so much, it is more that I think they alreaddy knew the probability of what Israel’s reaction would be because they could see what was going on in Gaza. I 100% agree that the Palestinians and Lebanese Shiia have EVERY right to build forces to defend themselves. I also 100% agree that it is NOT legitimate to call them “terrorists” when the same description is NEVER used of Israel in the West. The TERRORIST is the Zionist state of Israel first and foremost who uses its’ so called legitimate military to enforce HORRENDOUS enslavement of the Palestinians and grab land from its’ neighbor Lebanon. As I stated above, it is not Hizbollah who is destroying Lebanon, it is Israel. Where my full trepidition comes to bare is the fact that there is NO WAY Hizbollah can defend Lebanon against Israel, the facts of the current destruction speak for themselves. In the end, who is going to benefit from this madness? Those business interests who will be given the contracts to rebuild. In the meantime who is suffering? Hundreds of thousands of people who had no choice in this matter and now have suffered death and destruction of their homes that they had no hand in bringing upon themselves. Who is ultimately to blame in my mind?
Israel and the US 1000% I TRULY wish I had the answer to this situation, and I DO respect the right to resistance but so far, all I am seeing is destruction and the whole world standing by not wanting to get involved in the conflaguration. Ironically the ones happiest about this whole situation are the Christian Evangelical Fundamentalists who think this is the signal of the end times (Armageddon) and are eagerly awaiting the rapture. This whole world is going insane currently and as I said prior, I have no answers whatsoever other than to think that war is certainly not the best option in ANY case scenario and picking a war is not so smart either. (even though I know why they did what they did) I stand completely with Palestine and Lebanon against this aggression and pray my deepest prayers that this situation comes to an end before more lives are lost to the madness. Ed & Robin, I don’t understand why Hizbollah is such a blamed and hated party and is regarded as a terrorist group. Just because they are armed and are able to defend and claim what is rightly theirs does not make them terrorists. If you look back at history, Hizbollah is the only armed group in the region, who never targeted civilians, their attacks have always been on military of a country that was occupying its land. So what’s sooo bad and disgusting about that?

Hizbollah is the army of the region, doesn’t every country in this world have the right to have an army to protect it and defend it? Why is Hizbollah required to disarm? Would Israel accept to disarm? Since all the leaderships of the region are so weak, corrupt and unable to lift their head to even condemn the continuous humiliation and injustice, I can’t see how Hizbollah is not legitimate. Give me reasons why they’re not.

Who the heck said Nasralla is my hero. I NEVER said that ED. You are attempting to put words in my mouth in order to advance your own arguement. Yes I am angry, I am angry that the occupation has gone on for so long which has created extremism in those who have suffered under it and now wish bad things on my country because of our support of it. , I am angry at my own country which has continued to pursue a foreign policy which is both unhumanitarian and detrimental to our own self-interest. Am I pissed off at Hizbollah, hell yes. But it is not Hizbollah which is destroying Lebanon, it is Israel. “The devil made me do it” just does not cut it with me when an entire country has been brought to near ruin in less than a week. Think about it Ed, no one made Israel do this, they CHOSE both in Gaza and now in Lebanon to act in a wholy disproportionate manner, AGAIN and as usual. I guess that’s just the “lefty” peacenik in me just looking at the facts :)

As to Ed’s Jpost link referring to the Arab moderates backlash against Hamas and Hizbollah, “The analysis is not mere criticism, it is the actual situation in the Arab world. Once again, as happend so often in the past decades, the terrorists (with a little help from the privilaged) are directing events.

Once again I state, Hamas and Hizbollah as they are known and have become WOULD NOT EXIST were it not for the existance of the “terrorists” (as referenced in the Jpost ariticles’ use of the word, which SHOULD be directed inward) ISRAEL, with their privilaged friends, the US! AND without the ignoring of the problem by the Arab League, afraid themselves of repurcussions and also insistant upon their own survival and ACCUMULATION OF THEIR OWN WEALTH!! Wh0 gets shafted? The PALESTINIANS who have nowhere to turn for action on their behalf which gets them into a bigger mess. Where did it start? With the OCCUPATION and this is NOT being addressed, only shuffled off to the side AGAIN as millions suffer. You CANNOT win peace at the end of a gun barrel and the gun barrel was first pointed, and held for YEARS by Israel.

Well, all I know is that Hezbollah is firing rockets indiscriminately into Israel. They have even hit Arab villages, that hold both Arab Muslims and Christians in the north. In addition to the Jews that are under fear of Hezbollah rocket attacks, many Arabs, living peacefully in Galilee are in fear as well.

You ask what I want. I want Israel to end the occupation. Complete stop. I want Israel to comply by UN 242, Complete stop.
I want Israel to stop their assault on Lebanon, a beautiful country I once lived which is just now recovering from its’ long civil war and where innocent Lebanese civilians who have NOTHING to do with Hezbollah are being massacred. Complete stop. I want my government to cease COMPLETELY it’s support of the terrorist Zionist state of Israel. Complete stop. I want the other Arab nations in the area, bound by language and culture, who on the streets fully support the Palestinian cause to do MORE for the Palestinians in aid (Oh for the days of King Faisal) Complete stop. I want the fighting to STOP because I want peace. Complete stop. I want the world, the WHOLE world, to get back to basics and realize that this is NOT about Hamas or Hezbollah, this is about MILLIONS of innocent Palestinians who are suffering as no child of God ever should NOT because of H and H, but because H and H WOULD NOT EXIST as they are if it were not for the TERRORIST STATE OF ISRAEL.
