THE REAL aim is to change the regime in Lebanon and to install a puppet government.

That was the aim of Ariel Sharon's invasion of Lebanon in 1982. It failed. But Sharon and his pupils in the military and political leadership have never really given up on it…. Read The Real Aim by Uri Avnery. [Hat tip: pcclmnd]

I cannot access the Uri Avnery article from above link. I had to google it to reach it.

It doesn't for me. It's a blank page and in the bottom left hand corner is the word "done".

OK, I tried the pcclmnd and that one worked, but the other one does not. It seems you can find Uri some places but be has disappeared into cyberspace other places. Remember, I have Internet Explorer and WIERD things are happening on it.
