The Truth Will Help to Set Us Free!

email

Here is an email I got from an American Lady who lives and wrote this email while under the terrorist attacks of Israel on Tyre, Lebanon.

For the past few weeks we have been bombarded by Israeli bombs and gunfire. I along with several other American women have decided to remain alongside our Lebanese and Palestinian husbands. This has been our home for several years. Last Friday a sermon was broadcasted. It was the voice of Hassan Nasrullah. He encouraged us all to have faith, even in the face of the strong force of the Israelis. He spoke of a book that describes why Muslims must overcome oppression and what surprised me it was authored by an American author. She was in Lebanon and she'd given him a copy before the war started. He was moved by a American who converted to Islam and seem to have an clear look into the pain of those who suffer from Israeli aggression. The imam gave English speaking woman several copies to share, although there was not enough to go around. The book was called An Unordinary Death, the Life of a Suicide Bomber. The Sheikh encouraged the woman to read this book and to think about the meaning. I did and realized that it was not to encourage suicide bombing but to encourage resistance and build upon one’s personal faith in justice. Like in Palestine, justice has eluded the people here in Lebanon while the world watches our children die. This book and the words of Sheikh Nasrullah have shown me that he is not against Americans or any particular people, only the actions that they commit against humanity. I hope American will go beyond television and educate themselves about our real convictions, instead of what the Israelis convince them through the media to believe.

I am not sure I, or anyone that I love, will survive the assaults that are still to come but I hope that some how the world will come to see the truth behind our resistance and the evil of Israeli oppression. I call on Americans and all people to read this book and gain a clearer insight into our grief. I know that the people of the world cannot be alongside us and defend us as we are dying, but please understand our hearts and minds.

May God give us peace.

I searched for the book online, I could find it on Amazon and other places, but could not find a free copy or excerpt from the book. If you find any, let me know. Meanwhile, I'll order a copy to read.

T.A. Thank you so much for sharing your story.

As I sit here watching everything that’s going on, it’s so hard for me to understand what it must be like for women over there. I am a minority woman and an American citizen trying to rationalize all of this. I don’t trust the news, I can only look at the pictures and come to a conclusion based on interpreting what I see. In America, Hezbollah is deemed as a terrorist group and America supports Israeli combat against Hezbollah. I can’t, in good conscience, agree with any side that refuses to take into account the death and distruction this crisis has caused. While reading these blogs, my aim is to get a better understanding of what’s really going on. Why are Hezbollah and Isreal really fighting? Why can’t peace be achieved on both sides? What will it take to end this horrible crisis that is taking the lives of women and children in the Middle East? I will remain on the side of the innocent civilians (Palestinians and Israeli’s) who continue to lose their lives. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

God bless us all.

Sabbah,

I remain painfully puzzled by your infatuation with Nasrullah. Whatever you think of the Israelis, it shouldn’t blind you to the fact that Hizbullah, under his leadership, launched an attack which was bound to result in the devastatation of Lebanon. The blood of the victims whose pictures you have posted is on his hands as much as anyone.

The model for Arab leadership should be the late Rafik Hariri whose vision gave Arab youth something positive to live for–as opposed to another “blood of martyrs/Death to Israel” fanatic like Nasrullah.
