http://www.bushcommission.org/ You may find this site interesting. Also http://www.impeachforpeace.org/ for those in our country, and just as a reminder there are many of US (of various bckgrounds and religions) who do really care!!!!
I am not anti-American for strongly disapproving of MUCH of what the current (and unelected BTW) Bush regime is doing, and not anti-semitic for being very sad and disgusted about much of what Israel- as a nation is doing.
IMHO it is anti-semitic when people assume that all Jewish (or Isaeli) people support the policies of Israel and/or America, just as it would be foolish, to assume all Muslims or Christians (or Americans ETC.) agree.
It is wrong for people to refuse to consider the facts, and very wrong for our ‘mainstream’ media to not present, as fairly and throughly as possible, important information.

Taking a quick look at what we have seen in the world since 9/11 (yes, the 5th anniversary is coming up soon) and what happened before.

BEFORE (1991 - 2001): America was very very reluctant to get involved in another Middle East war after the 1991 one and the 1993 Somalia one. However, the obsessions with Saddam’s Iraq continued and a limited war against him in December 1998 (and a threat of it in February of that year) put manners on him for that time. The issue at the core of the anti-Saddam policy was familiar: weapons of mass destruction. In 1998 and 2000, Osama bin Laden’s al Qaeda of course made limited attacks on US interests in 3 Middle Eastern nations (Kenya, Tanzania and Yemen) and the US responded by limited attacks on the anti-US Middle East Islamic regimes of Sudan and Afghanistan (the Taliban). Limited they were. The Clinton administration was more interested in what Slobodan Milosevic was up to and Clinton’s major war was the 1999 offensive against Milosevic in Kosovo: this helped end Milosevic’s regime and was a gesture to al Qaeda (who supported the Kosovan KLA) that the US protects Muslims, too.

Ariel Sharon became leader of Israel. A second intifada erupted in Palestine in 2000/2001.

Finally, the US was on the verge of gaining a new ally: Iran. Clinton normalised relations with another country the US had branded a terrorist state in 1995: Vietnam. He was setting the same in motion for Iran, who had recently elected a reformist and less corrupt president (Khatami). Iran almost went to war against al Qaeda and Taliban Afghanistan in 1998 because of the Taliban’s murder of Iranian officials.

AFTER (2001 - 2006): Then, 9/11. We all know what happened (the terror attacks, the anthrax attacks and scares, the Afghan war, the lack of finding bin Laden and co). The whole world was 100% behind the US then (inclusive of Iran). Only Saddam said that the “US deserved 9/11″ (fatal mistake). Israel took advantage of the US to lead their war on “terror” to mop up people it did not like.

It became popular to blame Saddam as the true planner of 9/11 with bin Laden as a client organiser.

In 2002, the US delivered its “Axis of Evil” rubbish speach and in doing so sealed the direction the US would take. Iraq, Iran and North Korea - none of whom did 9/11 and none of whom were strong enough to instigate much. Meanwhile Israeli did what it liked to the Palestinians with US blessing.

The 2003 invasion of Iraq quickly ousted Saddam’s regime but destabilised the region. Saddam let the roughest and most fanatic thugs out of his jails so as to make it tough for the US. Other terrorists came in from Saudi Arabia and elsewhere. Soon, we had such fanatics as the late Abu Musab Zarqawi, who terrorised Iraqi civilians with blasphemously cruel interpretation of Sharia law and beheaded Western civilians living in or visiting Iraq between 2004 and 2006 when he died.

Meanwhile in Iran, the Axis of Evil speach angered the population and more radical forces took advantage. Fanatics from across the border in Iraq destabilised Iranian provinces like Khuzestan and infiltrated Iranian police and so on. Just as Iran was about to consign blasphemous versions Sharia law [Sharia law is the law of Islam: however, the interpretation of it by certain fanatics is so warped it is blasphemous in that it shows god to be a cruel and sadistic tyrant and not the loving being Islam means him to be] to the dustbin of history where this racist, sexist, anti-religious and anti-god type of gunman law belongs, the Axis of Evil speach allowed many unscrupulous ‘leaders’ to reimpose elements of it and say that it was done because of hatred of Bush. 5 years before, they could not have implemented it as easily.

America keeps threatening Iran, exaggerating its nuclear programme and the like. Also, it set up a propaganda programme to turn its inexperienced and obscure new President, Dr Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, into the new Saddam Hussein.

Ahmadinejad suddenly was all kinds of things: a hostage-taker, executioner, hardliner, religious fanatic, neo-Nazi, holocaust denier, take your pick. In reality, Ahmadinejad had other fish to fry: his postgraduate studies.

His education, as many who studied him and know him show, he is not this religious fanatic anti-Semite but much more of a mix between the PhD student he was (with thesis-style letters to Bush and others) and a college leftist idealist. BUT: Ahmadinejad is not alone. There are some nasty people that Bush has helped to get into power in Iran that the inexperienced communist Ahmadinejad cannot control.

Ahmadinejad KNOWS that his people do not like what Israel are doing to Palestine. He knows the world share this view and this is why all should sign the petitions against Israeli aggression. He knows that the US will attack Iran if it does not have nuclear. He also tells the world Iran is not a threat to the world.

He also knows that he does not want to reimpose social restrictions BUT what happens. Ahmadinejad himself wants greater roles and freedom for women, as he is a communist. As a communist, he also knows that the state and Mosque should be separate. Is he a cleric? No. And he knows that Ayatollah Khomeini (originally an Islamic socialist) originally wanted a cleric-free Presidency. Most of all, Ahmadinejad wants to be re-elected and populism is his key characteristic. So, the problems in Iran do not come from the Presidency but the unelected paramilitaries, ministries and so on that the Bush and Israels of this world help to support in their rhetoric. But, Iran will never be Saudi Arabia: whatever Iranians think of the Shah, they still have had that experience of liberalism other countries in the area didn’t have. That’s why there is more boundaries pushed and alcohol drank in Iran than in any other country in the region. And the state have to accept it and ignore a lot (bribery of course is useful here).

The US has attacked many dictators in the past, all of whom invaded another sovereign nation: these include Nazi Germany, Milosevic Serbia, Saddam’s Iraq and North Korea. Why should Israel be treated any different? Its actions in Lebanon are akin to those of Milosevic in Kosovo and I’m told what we hear on the news is only half of it. The US/UK forces in Iraq are also doing exactly the same as the much hated Milosevic regime: ethnic cleansing, invasion and mass murder is the same no matter who does it. And it is Israel, the US and the UK who are the present culprits in such evil acts.
