The proposed treaty, which human rights groups have promoted as a significant move towards keeping small arms out of conflict zones, was endorsed on Tuesday by 15 Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, including the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu, the South African archbishop.
The resolution was adopted with 139 countries voting in favour of the motion, 24 abstentions and only one “no” vote.
What a shame!

Re: Gaza Autumn Clouds …. A significant change will never happen as long as the Jewish/Christian Zionists are in-charge. They rule/control the U.S./British - not to mention Israel - and all the other governments of the world by ‘proxy’. I.e., money !!! Money is not everything; it’s the only thing. Bottom line: So-called free governments can change their leaders; however, it’s not going to happen because of the power of Zionists’ political movement who have ‘attack dogs’ in place in every corner of the earth to scare the hell out of them if they make any significant amount of noise to interfere with their agenda . HOW SAD! Do not confuse real Jewish/Christian morals and religion with the world’s Zionists’ Political Movement. Zionists’ don’t have a religion. Basically, most of them are agnostic and/or atheist. I’m not anti-anything: I’m for everlasting peace - just dreaming.

I am an American and as an American I am TOTALLY ashamed by this. But then it just adds to the long list of utterly shameful acts on the part of my government. You all know what they are and just this week a poll was taken saying that most countries of the world see the US as being the number one impedidment to peace and the number one instigator of terrorism

Good going Bush and company, wake up and smell the coffee. This latest “peaceful” vote on your part is just freaking unbelievable!! And as Kimmy said about Canadians, please please do not think that all Americans are behind these shameful war mongering acts. This just makes me want to crawl in a hole in utter disgrace. It’s all about the military industrial complex. Please watch Dwight Eisenhower’s departing speech to the nation which warns us of this growing menace to peace, our own military industrial complex http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y06NSBBRtY

Also, one note of major interest, are the long historical factual ties of the Bush family to the arms industry here in America, not to mention their ties to the Carlyle group. What? Sign a treaty that might affect your and your crony’s war profits? Not on your life George Weasel Bush.
