Of course they called off the strike because of potential bad PR. But non-violent resistance relies on that, it places them in a lose-lose situation: call of their action or suffer the bad PR.

I agree. But I believe this demonstrates that Palestinians can take effective action, and I don’t think many would say that Palestinain resistance to date has been particularly effective. I am not trained in non-violent resistance, but I also think it will have to be sustained and “massive” to be effective, or else the short memory you refer to will come into play. There is a steep curve of prejudice and misinformation to climb, but while the world accepts the routine killing of a few at a time, it will not be able to ignore the routine killing of scores or more in actions such as this.

Just one note. “Mohamed” is not necessary an Arab! Although that’s what this commenter claims to be called, but hey… I can comment with Madona as my name, and I know Australians and Indians called Mohammed too :)

Of course I’m not saying that there is no Arab Zionists, (in fact I believe hat we have Arabs who are worse than Zionists) but I’m trying to clarify this to you cause you based your comment on the assumption that he is an Arab.

In Israeli policy, Palestinians=terrorists.
Either they are terrorists, retired terrorists, growing up to be terrorists or going to give birth to terrorists.
The Israeli must have been misquoted!
