Kimmy wrote me this email:
The US supports Israel, a known fact.
Israel has nuclear weapons. Now a known fact.
Israel does whatever they want to do in the Middle East.
Bush invaded Iraq and Afghanistan in the name of democracy.
Now Saudi Arabia is vowing to support the Sunnis if the US leaves Iraq.
This makes Saudia Arabia mainly Sunni.
Syria is mainly Sunni. Iran is mainly Shia.
Is the main reason behind behind the Bush invasions to get the Sunnis
and the Shias to fight to take pressure off the Israeli occupations.
Are the reasons of Iraq and Afghanistan invasions to create tensions
between Muslim groups to ease off pressure on the Israelis?
This has been bothering me for several days now. It is the only reason
for Bush to say “stay the course”!
I might be way off in left field, but it still bothers me. You have a
better understanding of what is going on there than I do.
Can you straighten out my thoughts?
Nightmares gave me these thoughts. If I am right or wrong, either answer
will help me!
Well, Kimmy. It is all of this and more. IMHO, US is in trouble after the war in Iraq, which they claimed then is about WMD. Years went by, nothing was found, instead, Iraqi resistance got better and stronger day by day. They call them “insurgents”, but what do you expect from an occupier to call a national resistance? Israel and US calls anyone who is not at their side as terrorist, but a 5 years old kid knows who is occupying who and who is criminal and who is resistance.
The best way to hide a crime is to commit a new one, more devastating, and this is what US army and Israelis master. After US failure in Iraq, to cover-up their occupation crimes and reason for existence in Iraq, best way is to create and SUPPORT a civil war. Unfortunately, they succeeded in Iraq (and now something similar is starting in Palestine), but it is getting out of control. The Iranians are gaining more power than they initially forecasted (or never did).
No one can blame Saudi support for Sunni’s for a simple reason; Iran is more powerful and has greater influence in Iraq than the occupation forces. There is reports from Iraqi Shia’t Imams that more than two million Persian has been given the Iraqi nationality. In fact, the same Imam challenged that all of the existing Iraqi government is originally non-Iraqi nationals and they all rooted from Persian descendant.
Now, the problem that the Arab world (not only Sunni, but even Arab Shia’a) is facing is the growing power of Iran hidden behind powerful so called Iraqi Shia’a, whereas the truth is that Iraqi Shia’a are suffering just as much from Iranian influence as the Sunnis. Few moths ago, Egyptian president Mubarak said in one of his interviews that Iraqi Shia’t loyalty is for Iran, and he meant it, but he didn’t mean the Arab Iraqi Shia’a, in fact he meant the so called Iraqis from Iranian origins. Similarly Jordan government shown its worries from the powerful Iranian Shia’t arm in Iraq.
Maybe this will be the first time in history where all Arab will agree with Israel and US and do whatever it takes to fight the danger of the existing Iranian system. Saudis will do whatever it takes (build a wall, pay for resistance, which they now call insurgents and terrorists) to keep Iran away from its borders, and no one can blame them.
The issue is not about Sunni and Shia’a, it is not about Muslims civil war, it is about Arab and Iran, Iran and the world.
If US and Israel finds a way to get on the same vehicle alongside the Iranian system and share the resources of the Arab world, don’t be surprised if you see Iran borders next to Israel, Turkey and Egypt!

Haitham,
This is a very interesting theory which you propose but I believe it has a couple holes. The civil war that is going on in Iraq was a cosequence of the US invasion of Iraq, not the purpose behind it. I think it would be a bit of a stretch to believe that the current inept and incompetent administration have a master plan to incite a regional Sunni v. Shia war. I just don’t think they have the brains to be honest.
I believe the Bush administration did not understand Iraq and did not understand the greater middle east. George Bush did not even know what the distinction was between Shias and Sunnis a year before the war. Even now if you ask how the Kurds are different from the Shias and Sunnis, I wouldn’t be a bit suprised if many in the administration couldn’t answer you.
Another example of their incompetence is that currently at the embassy in Baghdad, the largest US embassy in the world with the largest staff has four, FOUR, arab speaking staff (This firghtening statistic is provided in the Baker Hamilton Report). Just sheer incompetence.
Also, if you look at the plans the Bush administration had for Iraq I don’t think they included civil war. They did include long term military occupation (just look at those big old bases), sucking the oil out of the country (the first building protected once the US army invaded Baghdad ministry was the Oil ministry with the maps of the oil fields), and install a pro-western government.
So yes, I think the Bush administration should be condemned for being decitful to their own counrty, causing war crimes, invading a foreign country, not providing adequate security, mismanagement of post-war reconstruction, instigating ethnic violence, and being incompetent in domestic and foreign affairs, but it seems a bit conspiracy theory and unrealistic to think the Bush administration is capable of such a master plan. Just my thoughts.
Lots of Love,
Sean

I didn’t expect my email on this site.
I have to thank you for your answer. It was explained in a manner I didn’t expect and it was explained in a way that told me a lot of things.
Thank you again.

I have read your post several times and you make me even more scared about the future of the world.
God help us all!
How can a non-believer sit here and view all these agressions against their own religions and other religions in the name of their Gods.
Where does it end?
I judge a person as to who they are, not what they are.
God is making my life difficult.
Haitham, thank you for a civil voice that gives me an insight in to a world that the west rarerily sees.

It is obvious that you talk about Iraq politics while you don’t have any knowledge about the complexity of its society.
You clammed that there are reports “here is reports from Iraqi Shia’t Imams that more than two million Persian has been given the Iraqi nationality”, but you didn’t refer us to any of those reports, further more you didn’t mention anything about the fact that Sadam during his reign has expelled hundreds of thousands Iraqis to Iran claming that they are from Iranian origins. This is in fact very stupid justification when talking about multiracial countries like Iraq and Iran, where the Arabs lived side by side with the Kurds and Persians and other ethnicities. Imagine Iran expelling 3 millions Arabs living in Ahwaz and Muhammarah to Iraq because they are from Arabic origin!
You are talking about Iraqis like if they are Arabs only and ignoring the fact that the Persians have always been part of that nation and they in fact were there even before the Arabs (Arabs invaded Iraq around the seventh century while Persians were there during the era of Babylon).
It is very stupid to talk about Persians as if they are Iranians only and ignoring the fact that they are part of many other nations like Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tajikistan,Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Southern Russia and the UAE.
Stupid Sadam and some stupid Arabs think of Iraq as Arab only country ignoring the very known fact that there are millions of Kurds, Persians, Assyrians and many other non-Arab Iraqis as well.

Omar,
According to CIA FactBook about Iraq:
Now I’m not saying that CIA factbook is a Bible, but I never heard or read in my school books or history books or anywhere that Persians are part of Iraq ethnic groups. Well, not until our American friends came and occupied Iraq and left the East door open for Iranians. So, I don’t see Persians anywhere in Iraq as Iraq is and suppose to be! (And I don’t care if they form any percentage -if any- in Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tajikistan,Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Southern Russia and the UAE).
Further, who claimed that Iraq is not an Arab state? Does the constitution says so? And if it does, when and why it was changed?
As for the Imam I refereed to, unfortunately I don’t have a link to it as it was an interview on Aljazeera channel with Ayatollah Fadel Al-Maliki (an Arab Shia’t Imam). Moreover, it is not a secret that many Imams accused Iran and their gangs in Iraq in trying to kill and eliminate Arab Shia’s and their leaders as well Arab Sunnis and create a civil war between them. Here is one example (assuming that you are an Arab, not Persian, so you can read Arabic):

Haitham, I am really sorry to find out that you, who I assume are an educated Arab, still think in the dimensions of “Arab” and “Ajam”. The truth is that the Saudi government is Wahhabi “kills Shiites simply because they are Shia’s”. as you mentioned 65 percent of Iraqi’s are Shias, and they were supressed during Saddam’s era. It is natural that the Shia government of Iraq will be a better friend of Shia Iran than that of Sunni Saudi Arabia. It is still not clear for me, what is the danger of Iran? is it dangerous that Iran is not a puppet regime like that of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, …. ? Is it dangerous that Iran is the only country supporting Palestine, Lebanon, and Hezbollah?
Believe me if Iran was to find an ally in the middle east, the best ally for it was going to be Israel. But it does not want benefit for itself at the cost of our muslim brothers elswhere. In the end Israeli’s didn’t cheer for Saddam every time he bombed our cities! But Arabs did! Do you want to know why? because we were not Arab! They provided saddam funds to kill us, do you know why? because we were not Arab. believe me Israeli’s are going to be very good allies for Iran, do you know why? Because they are smart and loyal
