Good news for activists:
I just noticed that B’Tselem - The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories - is having more videos uploaded to their YouTube channel. In fact, out of the 20 videos they have there, 13 were uploaded in the last seven days only. It looks that B’Tselem are realizing the power of blogging and Web 2.0 applications more and more. Maybe they have seen more awareness of what they are trying to do after the “famous” Hebron video were published and the reaction that followed that. Latest say:
A senior official of Israel’s central Holocaust memorial on Saturday assailed Jewish settlers who harass Palestinians in a tinderbox West Bank city, saying the abuse recalled the anti-Semitism of 1930s Europe. [Full article]
That was the good news. The bad news is that you will not go away without depression. In fact you will not fail to find more and more examples of assault, abuse, humiliation and all sort of inhuman degrading of Palestinians by Israelis. What do you expect to see when you read video titles like:
- IDF soldiers forced taxi passengers to undress
Destruction of an olive grove
Olive Harvest Goes to Waste
Khaled waited 4 months for a permit
Waiting Next to Locked Gate
Police officers severely beat and abuse a detainee
Soldiers humiliate Palestinian detainees
Police officers assault boys
etc… See All Videos
Depressing, but not surprising.
