UK government plans new nuclear bomb

In 6 days the UK government will vote to build a new nuclear bomb. While the world unit against Iran building nukes, why is it ok for other to do so? Not that I support Iran for this, but the irony is that some people give themselves the right to do what they don’t allow others to do. Israel, USA and now UK are good examples for this.

Hussein from Greenpeace tipped me with this news:

The UK government is proposing to build a new nuclear weapon. Building a new bomb is illegal and immoral and it is time the government listened to reason. That’s why a 50-strong choir called ‘Sense of Sound’ will perform a piece composed by Damon Albarn on board the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise moored next to London’s Tower Bridge this evening.

Entitled “5 Minutes to Midnight” the performance will represent a peaceful demonstration against renewing the UK nuclear weapons system Trident, and against Britain possessing nuclear weapons. Directed by Hannah Eidinow with visuals designed by Robert del Naja of Massive Attack, and contributions from Brian Eno, “5 Minutes to Midnight” will be broadcast live online at from this site starting at 6:30pm GMT and available for 24 hours following the event.

We’ll be webcasting the whole thing live from our berth on the Thames - you can catch it (live or over the following 24 hours) on the Greenpeace UK main website tonight at 6.30.

Don’t miss it, say no to nukes!
