Anti-occupation groups protest “Jews-only” real estate sale of apartments in the West Bank. Amana (amana.co.il), the seller, brought shiny booklets where each contraband town had its own profile listing Jewish-only community centers, Jewish-only swimming pools, distance on Jewish-only roads to major destinations… no mention of the fact that the land is stolen. Buyer, beware!
The sale took place in Teaneck, NJ at Synagogue B’nai Yeshurun — notoriously right-wing and linked to the violent Israeli settlers who seize Palestinian land with the help & protection of the Israeli army.
Protesters are NJ & NY Palestinian & Jewish human rights groups, as well as local people from Teaneck and other towns. As usual, the Free Palestine movement is a motley crew. At this protest, there are those who know the ins and outs of the issue, and whose protest is factual and clear. And there are well-meaning but less-nuanced people who are so outraged about the simple fact of the settlements — and that Jews would visit their own fate on another people — that they descend into screaming. And that’s just how it goes till the occupation ends.
