And what a touching PR photo of Merkel at Yad Vashem, with the right touch of humility and next to the ever present at every photo op Tzipi Livini (who would like to get rid of Olmert like Merkel got rid of Kohl. . .)
The news piece that carried this photo was: “Abbas to Merkel: Time has come to end world boycott of PA government.” So nothing new, but the photo was fascinating to miss!
I wonder how much and until when, the Germans will accept this kind of humility?!

As German my blood starts to boil when I look at this picture .. NOT (as probably some want to instantly and conveniently conclude) because I do not pay tribute to the six million (YES, there WERE six million victime of the Nazi regime which was HORRIBLE and should NEVER have happened), but because of the atrocity these very people commit who were the victime some sixty-plus years ago!! They should be the VERY FIRST ONES who should know better than MOST others on this planet what persecution, terror, fear, hunger, suffering and violent death means .. but what they are doing on a daily basis is pass it on collectively to the Palestinian population!
Frau Merkel has - in MY eyes - no backbone whatsoever and blindly goes along with what the Israeli government proposes, suggests, decided - without any critics as “we as Germans need to continue to show devotion and atone”! She does conveniently ignore the facts on the ground … and THAT is what is utterly disgusting me!!
I have NO problem per-se with her going to Yad Vashem … but I have a HUGE problem with her selective understanding of justice and morals!
What you are saying is: Those stupid jews failed to learn the lesson we (the Germans) tried so hard to teach them? Dear Karin, that’s disgusting!

The Palestinians have been occupied, put in prisons, shot, tortured and many other abuses longer than the Jews suffered under Hitler.
If anything, they should be more understanding about people suffering.
But they still make the Palestinians suffer for their own gain.
The Palestinians are losing land and lives to Israel so the Israelis can live in their “promised lands”.
It used to be about religion. Now it is about greed and their hate of Arabs.

First I want to thank you for your resoponse to my comment. Sadly enough I must to inform you, you need to learn to distinguish a few things, FIRST AND FOREMOST: Jews and Zionists! I have NO problem whatsoever with JEWS as Judaism is a monotheistic religion which I highly respect and NOT LIKE ZIONISM, a racist ideology! What I was saying is exactly what Haitham pointed out - please re-read his explanation.
No Martin, what I said is NOT disgusting - I would never utter anything to that respect. I emphazised I do feel about the Holocaust the SAME WAY every person with a sane mind does - it was most terrible, should NEVER have happened and is never allowed to happen again! What I ask you to do is pick up information of what is happening TODAY, on DAILY basis, in the occupied territories … to the Palestinian population. Who commits these crimes are the offsprings of just these people who suffered so terribly .. and thus should know better that anyone else, don’t you agree?
