Hebron ethnic cleansing: What they don’t show you on CNN

Written by Haitham Sabbah on 11. June 2007, 1217hrs // Part of Haitham Sabbah's adventure in Bleeding Edge, Human Rights, Israel, Palestine, Racism, Terrorism, Video, Zionism // Other posts by Haitham Sabbah

The silent ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Hebron never stopped since the Israeli occupation landed. Following are few examples of the endless crimes conducted by Hebron colonizers (a.k.a. settlers) and their terrorist army (IOF), against land and Palestinian families, documented and published by B’Tselem - The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories.

Introduction: The “quiet transfer” in Hebron:

Hebron is the only Palestinian city with a Jewish settlement at its heart. To enable a few hundred settlers to move about freely, Israel chose to enforce a formal policy of discrimination against more than 120,000 Palestinian residents of the city. Throughout the years Hebron city center became a ghost town.

The Rooftops of Hebron:

In 2000, the army closed Shohada Street , in Hebron , to Palestinians and sealed the entrances to the houses on the street. To leave her home, Malka Kafisha had to climb up through the roofs of neighboring houses.

Imagine if this family has some emergency and they want to take someone to doctor, say. The door is “welded”. They are prisoners inside their house while the Jewish colonizers are freely walking in the street.

Harvesting olives, Harvesting a Storm:

On 26 Oct. 06, Hashem al-’Aza, one of the last remaining Palestinian residents of Tel Rumeida, set off to harvest his olive trees. The settlers, who view his property as their own, came to stop him.

Error: A main street in Hebron “closed by mistake”

The main street in Hebron’s commercial area has been closed to Palestinians since 2000. The army closed all the shops and sealed the doors at the entrances to the houses. Six years later, three Palestinians “TRY” to cross the street.

What is this called? RACISM? I don’t think there is enough words in the dictionary to describe what the Zionists are doing in Palestine.

Tel Rumeida, Hebron:

In the center of the city of Hebron lies the “Tel Rumeida” neighborhood. In 1986, a new settlement was established at the heart of the neighborhood. The settlers of Tel Rumieda, who known as particularly extreme, live on one side of a dead-end street… The Abu Eisha family lives on the other side.

That was a small sample of Palestinian’s lives in Hebron under the force of the apartheid occupation state called “Israel”.

This is a site I found interesting.
Whether I agree or disagree doesn’t matter.
It should be read and commented upon.

Of course you won’t see things like this in the American media. People are still being fed propaganda and as a result of that, no one really wants to learn the real story behind this whole conflict.

It is only a matter of time before the whole thing backfires against the israelis. Keep your excellent work Sabbah. Your video with checkpoint 303 is a powerfull tool. I’m passing it on to DJ’s (a good way to reach out the youth)

I think the tide is about to turn. Gradually there is more realistic reporting about what Israel is really doing. Almost every other day there is a piece on BBC Radio.
Also there are a lot of Americans who make up their own mind and that is
NOT in favor of Israel. They are also for the most aware who calls the shots
in Americas mass media and who lobbies in the corridors of power.
As a spin off to the war on Iraq the American public is now quite aware
how they have been lied to and how one sided, specifically anti Arab
the mass media was. To think, that any of this has increased Israel’s popularity
amongst ordinary Americans would be a serious error in judgement.
Although I am not an American myself I do know them rather well.
In general they have a strong sense of fair play and do care, especially
for the “under dog”. This is how Israel has been portrayed, but that
is no longer credible, much like the reasons given for attacking Iraq.
An example is former U.S. President J.Carter. Now that he is unshackled
from the slander the media would have smeared all over him he also becomes
ever more critical of Israel. Israel’s actions are also being openly criticized by
Jewish human rights organizations from within. Just yesterday the BBC had
a piece on all day about such a group giving Palestinians video cameras.
The idea is to document these crimes. BBC International followed up with
a report how one of these cameras recorded 4 Jewish settlers beating up
and elderly woman, her husband and a child with baseball bats in a
wantonly attack. I hope you do not believe that things like that do not
anger the rest of the world. There is no amount of propaganda the Israeli
government can make that could minimize crimes like that to “self defence”.
It is easy for me to say what I have to say next, because I did not have
to suffer anything even remotely what you are suffering, but here it is
anyway: There are A LOT OF PEOPLE who have a LOT OF
sympathy for Palestinians BECAUSE of your suffering.
I can fully understand why someone would want to fire missiles into
Israel, but that does NOT win any friends in what is currently the
most powerful country in the world. KNOWING how one sided
CNN is, in your own words, what do you think they show on
TV?…and just how are the victims of such an attack responsible for
the abuses and crimes the Israeli government is committing?..
I am sure of one thing, would the missile attacks seize Israel would
fast become the most unpopular state in American public opinion.
And that is because Americans ALWAYS root for the under dog
and even go to bat for them. You can take that literally, I don’t
know any other country where police and fire fighters risk their
lives to save a dog or a cat from a house fire.
Just what could be gained by attacking a country like that as in “911″.
It should by now abundantly clear that back fired and has NOT
helped the Arab cause. What does help is stuff like that video camera
idea and blogs like your’s….not a blood bath caused by a suicide
bomber or a missile fired into Israel indiscriminately killing people.
Do you know, that there were MANY people here in the western
world who were ready to volunteer as human shields against
Israeli bombing raids? You CAN win this conflict quite easily
if your weapon of choice is intelligence rather than fertilizer and
    diesel fuel!

    Bernhard Berger Says:

Now just 3 days after I left my comment here BBC International announced that Hamas
and Israel have agreed to a seize fire, brokered by Egypt….and if it holds for 5 days
Israel will (FINALLY) talk with Hamas.
Rarely have I been as happy as when I heard these news. Again I do think the tide
IS turning and peace WILL dawn.
As a footnote to “what they won`t show on CNN” even that horrible
video where elderly Palestinians were assaulted was shown today
on the CNN web Page….THINGS ARE ALREADY CHANGING!
