Great post – walls like the ones you mentioned do not protect anyone; rather they build more misunderstanding, distrust, and hatred; and they continue to marginalise the already marginalised…

Drive along any coastal back roads in southern Almeria and you will see groups of North and West Africans huddled together. People have told me that the working conditions in the plasticos are horrendous where in the desert summer temperatures reach 45c – the heat mixed with the fertilizers causes chest and breathing problems.

Very interesting site ….but in my opinion a bit one sided (taking it from the African perspective) – if africans and african leaders made our countries work – we too will want to protect what we have as they (the europeans) want to protect what they have.
