Will the U.S. ever leave Iraq? Official policy promises an eventual departure, while warning of the dire consequences of a "premature" withdrawal. But while Washington equivocates, facts on the ground tell another story. Independent journalist Dahr Jamail, and author Chalmers Johnson, are discovering that military bases in Iraq are being consolidated from over a hundred to a handful of "megabases" with lavish amenities. Much of what is taking place is obscured by denials and quibbles over the definition of "permanent." The Bases Are Loaded covers a wide range of topics. Gary Hart, James Goldsborough, Nadia Keilani, Raed Jarrar, Bruce Finley Kam Zarrabi and Mark Rudd all add their observations about the extent and purpose of the bases in Iraq.

Chalmers Johnson is absolutely one of the finest minds when speaking of US foreign policy there is. “Nemesis, The Last Days of the American Republic” is the title of his latest book which discusses the far-flung US military presence around the world. It is a MUST read. The local UN chapter and peace coalition hosted him as a speaker two months ago and he is AMAZING. The church which hosted the event was packed to capacity. Nadia Keilani who appears in this film is a member of and appeared as a guest speaker at the Al-Awda convention last month. Many WONDERFUL people out there giving the information not covered in the MSM. And Alternate Focus who produced this film, GREAT, they have their programs on cable channels in many cities. http://www.alternatefocus.org/
The truth is getting out!!
Empires rise and empires fall, this is precisely what Chalmers Johnson is talking about. The US has become a nation which seeks to control with military might. The US economy is stretched beyond limits all paying for what? Militaristic imperialism. Chalmers Johnson also appears in the documentary, “Why We Fight” which is also about the US far flung military. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article8494.htm
We must all remember Eisenhower’s word in his speech “The Military Industrial Complex” from 1961 http://coursesa.matrix.msu.edu/~hst306/documents/indust.html
Premature withdrawal is just a sexual expression in the US.
Most people don’t understand the implications of the US actions in Iraq.
All they know is get out and let the people of Iraq settle their differences.
They don’t realise that the US has destroyed any way for peace in the Middle East.
They don’t know that Israel has occupied Palestinians for over 40 years.
All they know is Isreal: Good
Palestein: Bad.
CNN: good
Al Jazeera: bad
Which leads to my final evaluation.
Truth in the US: bad.
It doesn’t happen.
