Israel provides military aid to the Myanmar military regime

While Myanmar remains a pariah state, subject to comprehensive sanctions by the USA and European Community, it is unlikely that Israel will ever admit publicly to having military links with the Tatmadaw…

Given the nature of some of these sales, and other probable forms of military assistance to Myanmar, these initiatives would appear to enjoy the strong support of the Israeli government…

In addition to training Myanmar agriculturalists in Israel, assisting the Tatmadaw to upgrade its military capabilities seems a sure way of getting close to the Yangon regime.

Israel’s repeated denial of any military links with Myanmar are not unexpected. Israel has never liked advertising such ties, particularly with countries like Myanmar, South Africa and China, which have been condemned by the international community for gross abuses of human rights…

It is ironic that Israel expresses concern about protestors being killed by the Burmese military it supplies, when Israel itself has killed ten Palestinians protesting the annexation of large sections of their farmland, and injured hundreds of others, including Israeli and international demonstators, who have been beaten, arrested and expelled by the Israeli military…

Whoah, this guy is talking about this article and these FACTS on JPost
    http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1191257215260&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

Of course he has his own take on it, EVERBODY DOES IT, it’s called “realpolitik” but DOES say Israel has a double standard. Really?
You could have fooled me, NOT!

    He also wrote:

“I don’t think Israel is unique or even unusual when it comes to war profiteering and propping up dictators, mass murderers, mass torturers and the like. It’s an ugly world we live in. My point is that Israel is part of the ugliness. If we’re no worse than the rest of the world, we’re not better, either. We also help out evildoers, real bad ones, when it’s in our interest.”

Oh I am SO glad that Israel is “no different” in his eyes. Could someone explain just how this JUSTIFIES what Israel does? He lives in the “real world”, just IMAGINE what it COULD be like if people like this were held accountable and GOTTEN RID OF. Absolutely SICKENING!

Let me get this straight. The United States sends an exorbitant amount of money to Israel and what are they doing supporting a military regime in Burma. What the Burmese people have endured for years under a miltary dictatorship has been terrible. People are not free and they have endured many human rights abuses. This is very disturbing news.
