Personally, I think Segev is wrong about Merkel’s biography, which is opportunism… Her father was a minister who joined the Communist party in East Germany, though he did not have to… and she is clearly Islamophobic - which is seen in her attitude to Turkey, to the Palestinians, to Iran, Iraq, etc… at least Segev NOTICED that she said nothing. 99% of the world press did not!
