I’m a silent reader of this blog. I like it, and one of the nicest things about it is its focus.

Now this last piece, I don’t know what it’s supposed to mean/say/do. Are you telling Shia to not try and convert Sunnis into their religion? I thought all people can invite others to their religion- so long as the other party joins in willingly. I don’t find missionaries offensive. If you don’t like it, don’t convert. That’s one part. Last time i checked people are free to choose their beliefs- one way or another.

Then the article jumps and does some acrobat in the air and starts talking Shia Faith, the practice of cursing and inter-sect relationships between Shia and Sunna. Here it gets annoying because the article starts talking like it knows it all, and it sums up centuries of political-yes political- and religious fight between Muslims to mere two lines. It does not stop there, it also tells us Shia learned their lessons well- Yuppiee! Oh, and through it all it retains the word “brothers” to make the article all but so sensitive to all audience.

if the point of the article was that AlQardawi should not have got the treatment he did from Iran or whomever it is, it should have just said so, it would have been great if it stopped there.

Since the conclusion of the article is flavored with a unity flag, I might want to add that the article is not very unity friendly. Uses of hostile language and excessive use of “THEY” and “US” is not at all a unity tone.

Just one quote:

But that’s just fine because we then called them “brothers?”

- إسرائيل تريد صراع سني شيعي لنفس الأسباب الأمريكية إضافة إلى إضعاف وتدمير حماس والجهاد وحزب الله المحاصرين من الرسمية العربية والذين لايجدوا مصدر دعم الا من إيران. ومن ثم إسرائيل تريد فتنة إسلامية مسيحية لتستدرج عطف الغرب وترفع من وتيرة صدام الحضارات والذي يصب دوما في خدمتها مثل الرسوم المسيئة للرسول. بل هنالك من يقول ان حرب المواقع الإلكترونية بدأتها جهات غير مسلمة وتكشف عناوينها العنكبوتية عن مصادر في إسرائيل وأمريكا. وطبعا المطلوب شرارة في جو مشحون حتى تشتعل نار يغذيها السذج.

- البشمرغة الكردية تعرف انه لو توحد عرب العراق سنة وشيعة فقد يسقط مشروع الدولة الكردية والذي لن يتحقق طالما الأغلبية العربية موحدة في رفضها. ولكن عندما يتم تفتيت العرب في العراق سنة وشيعة ومسيحين ويتم ضرب بعضهم ببعض, تستطيع البشمرغة الكردية التلاعب عى تناقضات العرب الطائفية مقابل تمرير مشروعها الإنفصالي. والأمريكان لايعترضون على هذا السيناريو.

- إيران تريد صراعا محدودا ولاتريد فتنة سنية شيعية تقلم نفوذها في المنطقة عكس ماتريده امريكا وإسرائيل والديكتاتورية العربية. إيران تريد دولة عراقية مسالمة غير قادرة على شن حرب على إيران كما فعل المرحوم صدام حسين. لذلك إيران تريد نظاما خالي من النفوذ الأمريكي والبعثي. ومن هذا المنطلق إيران براغماتية مستعدة لدعم اية تيار سني او شيعي ضد الإحتلال الأمريكي وضد البعث حتى لو كانت المواجهة مع شيعة. لذلك لاتستطيع إيران ان تقف مكتوفة الأيدي بينما تصبح العراق محطة لشن حروب وعمليات عليها من تكفيريين و بعثيين وعملاء إسرائيل.

- اما الديكتاتورية العربية فلها تاريخ نضالي عريق في شق الصف العربي للحفاظ على مكاسب عائلية وإقليمية. فالوحدة العربية كانت دوما تهدد بتهمييش العائلات الحاكمة وإستبدالها إما بسلطة مركزية واحدة ديمقراطية كما في الهند او حزبية كما في الصين. والنموذج الإيراني الشبه ديمقراطي والمواجه للإمبريالية والصهيونية ونجاحه النسبي في جنوب لبنان عن طريق حزبالله يشكل مصدر قلق للرسمية العربية والتي تعتبر الأنجلوصهيونية مصدر حماية لمصالح عائلاتها وليس تهديد, وتنظر للمزاودات الإيرانية على أنها ترفع سقف توقعات الجماهير العربية في المواجهة مع الأنجلوصهيونية مما يولد ضغوطا عارمة قد تكشف تواطئ الرسمية العربية مع الأنجلوصهيونية بشكل مباشر. لذلك تحاول الرسمية العربية تحويل إنتباه الجماهير العربية من خطر الأنجلوصهيونية الى خطر الشيعة وقلب الطاولة على إيران مهما كانت النتائج سلبية على المسيرة العربية الوحدوية و الحضارية الشبه منعدمة.

اما التكفيريون من أهل السنة والشيعة فلا يحسبوا من أقطاب المعركة الطائفية لأنهم مجرد جنود حمقى يفتقرون للعقلانية والحس الإستراتيجي والنظرة التاريخية ودوما بالخدمة ويسهل تجنيدهم من قبل الديكتاتوريات والأنجلوصهيونية . ونرى
بعض الشخصيات العربية الرسمية تمول مواقع الكترونية وتوزع اقرص مدمجة وتدير حلقات في المنازل هدفها الأول والأخير تأجيج نار الفتنة للتحضير ليوم قد نشهد فيه مذابح تفوق مذابح رواندا بشاعة. وها نحن نشاهد دموية هذا الكره في لعراق.

I think you haven’t understood the post very well.

Haitham have not said anything about punishing or hating anybody, but on the contrary, he called for stopping cursing the Sahaba of the prophet which is common sense and will save unnecessary emotional hard feelings. I can’t see what’s wrong with this, and I can’t see any lunacy.

If you are ashamed of being an Arab, then this is your personal business and actually have nothing to do this productive article.

I have studied Islam, its doctrines and history and I find it fascinating how ignorant Muslims are of their own religion. It took me a week to work out the family and marital relationships (and bitter feud) between the four caliphs. Some few interesting facts: Ali was his own uncle (married to his wife’s sister’s daughter) and Omar is unique because he was one of the few people in history who (by marriage) was his own greatgrandfather (The father-in-law of Mohammad married to the prophet’s granddaughter). Ali was also cousin and son-in-law to Mohammad (because he was married to his daughter Fatima) and grandson-in-law (married to his granddaughter). He was also father-in-law to Omar and double brother-in-law to Uthman. Oh yes, Abu Bakr and Omar (?) even shared a wife (actually a widow). The fact is that they all were family but they were not friends. Yes, Ali was known for his bravery, honesty and mercy (think Battle of the Camel), but he was also a terrible, unimaginative and indecisive leader who probably had a hand in the revolt and murder of Uthman (who died with his blood soaking the first Quran).

See, some of us infidels know Islam better than you Muslims. We look at your religion and see nothing but hate and violence, from 610(?) until 2008ad. We see ignorance and stupidity. At least some of the commenters here acknowledge that and I thank them for their honesty. Don’t blame us infidels for your problems like you always do. I find Muslim history very interesting, not only because of the detail but because of how Sunni and shia interprete it and blame each other. Well, one thing I am certain of, it was not infidels that killed Hussein and his companions and carried 72 heads in bags (including that of the infant greatgrandson of your prophet) as trophies to the Caliph. In fact, the only place Sunni and Shia can really live togther in peace today is in non-Muslim lands. The fact is that the history of Islam is a history of hate and violence, against each other and against non-Muslims. Nothing has changed in 1300 years. When something bad happens, Muslims blame others (usually the jews).

Here we see people defending an old man that preaches hate towards both non-Muslims and Muslims. Here we see people saying that this same man is cooperating with the vile jews and Americans. Do you people have any idea how stupid this is?

See, Haitham ensured our support to the politics of shiites glory movements such as Hezbollah and Iran revolution.

Haitham also called for Muslim unity by prohibiting cursing Sahaba, which is for the common good off All Muslims (Sunnis+ Shiites).

We have common grounds and goals, it seems to me that letting go of cursing sabaha will unite Muslims and make them unstoppable !
