The power of people standing up in front of tanks, people who have nothing left to lose, is an image that the world is missing. Forget suicide bombers, suicide peaceniks could make things happen. Nothing will stop the bloodshed. Even the demise of Isreal will pit Arab/Muslim world against itself. What will you do then? The devil wants blood and you all seem hellbent on giving it to him. The taste of peace is sweeter than the sweetest revenge, sweeter than the sweetest government job. Are you afraid of peace for some reason that I can not fathom?
Peace, as we have seen, seems temporary. So what? Give yourselves a break. A generation of Semites living in peace could change the world for generations to come. Stand up peacefully, non-violently. Fewer people will die and your struggles will be backlit on the world's media screens. You will find Israeli brothers and sisters who will join you, I am sure. The world needs peace and leaders like you to make it. May God bless you.

Isn’t it time for real non-violence, the political kind? Nothing will change with Obama, a moderate Palestinian in Israeli eyes is one that is happy to be screwed over in regards to the return of their rightful land. Ironically what happened to the Palestinians also happened to the Jews of Europe in the 1930's. Human beings never learn.
At some point in time the US and Israel must come to realise why the rest of the world are cynical and disgusted in regards to their warmongering. It is all about money and power, what the US and Israel don't understand is that it will not work.

Unfortunately there is more money to be made as a result of war then peace. In fact he gave it in advance in July when he visited Israel. He said "If somebody was sending rockets into my house, where my two daughters sleep at night, I'm going to do everything in my power to stop that," he told reporters in Sderot. "And I would expect Israelis to do the same thing." What he didn't recognize is the same right for Palestinians. When Israel send rockets (real rockets, not Hamas fireworks) into Palestinians houses, while our kids are asleep and kill them, Palestinians are going to do anything and everything in power to stop that. Keeping in mind that Palestinians have the right to "send' their rockets because they are under occupation of Israel, not the other way around!!!
On the other hand, Obama didn't wait to move to office to give his opinion on what happened in Mumbai - India, few weeks ago. Why should he wait now?

This is funny. Obama spared no time to give his opinion. In fact he gave it in advance in July when he visited Israel. I hope he has the courage to rein in Israel, as the U.S. clearly has the power to do. But he has no power to do so and as only president-elect is really required not to interfere with present administration policies. I am fearful too that he may not fully understand the burden of injustice the people of Gaza have borne and are currently so acutely suffering under. Those of us who support efforts to open the borders of Gaza to hymanitarian aid and to real autonomy for Gaza can only hope to continue efforts to influence the new president.

It is unfortunate that Dr. Baghouthi finds it necessary to condemn Obama without being fully aware of his opinion on the present Israeli attacks.
