Thanks to John Caruso for highlighting the warmth and humanity of Palestinian people. Amira Haas, in Drinking the Sea at Gaza, wrote about that, too. Having read her writing for more than a decade, it's doubly heartbreaking for me to read the breathtaking ignorance from those who are propagandized into parroting Israeli and US talking points. The hideous truth, if it were truly shown to the American people, would be a shock, even as it is to some Israelis who decide to see the truth for themselves. They are changed forever.
