I was discussing with a tweeter on why there isn&#039;t greater coverage from the palestinian side (besiaed the fact that journalists are not allowed into Gaza). My point of view was that the suffering of people does not count for anything in the media in todays day and age. Also, the scale of damage which has taken place is also insignificant. You can relate this not only to regional conflicts, but also to natural disasters. I remember that the tsunami from a couple of *years* ago was off the front pages within a week.

However, minor scale of damage sells. It is more sensational, short and effective; which is why a rocket landing in Israel sells more than a bombs and missiles being dropped in Gaza on the scale at which they have been dropped.</description>
