Falsified Map of Palestine

Print This Print This

israel_exp_thumbA couple of days ago, the Israeli Ministry of Tourism apologized for featuring a map of Israel that included all Palestinian Occupied Territories as well as Syria's Golan Heights as integral part of Israel.

Israel's tourist ministry has admitted to a "mistake" over adverts on the London Underground after complaints that they "wipe Palestine off the map".

The ads include a map which campaigners say shows the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip – as well as Syria's Golan Heights – as integral parts of Israel.

The ministry said that in general, maps should not be used on billboards.

But it denied a Transport for London statement that it had asked for the offending posters to be removed.

In spite of that, the Ministry never apologized, removed or corrected similar detailed Israeli map featured on their website (one example below).

In fact I never expect them to do so!

If you look in the large version of the map you will notice that they only have Gaza in a different color. All other parts of Occupied Territories and Golan Heights appear to be integral parts of the so-called Israel.

The funny part is when you search the Ministry's website for the word "Palestine" the result is 16 articles. Reading randomly some of them, "Palestine" is the name of the land they are referring to every time when the subject is something that goes back to dates before the Israeli occupation.

So the question is: Are they acknowledging the existence of Palestine before they occupied it? And if it was there, where did it vanish to since then? Where did the people who lived there go to? And most importantly, where are the people who live there NOW? Are they all Israelis? If so, then what is that red-black-white-green flag flying over the occupied lands?

Don't get exited now. Here is one tip from the FAQ:

Are tourists allowed to enter areas outside of the Israeli responsibility (Palestinian areas)?

Passage to the two major tourist cities of Bethlehem and Jericho in the Palestinian Authority is direct without prior clearance or required authorization.

As regarding the rest of the Palestinian areas, it is recommended to forward requests to the IDF Public Relations Office, Fax: +972-2-5305724. All requests should include: Name, passport nationality and number, destination, name of departure into Palestinian Area Crossing if known; if crossing is by car – name and details of driver as well as car registration number. Fax replies will only be sent to Israeli tel./fax numbers.

Since the occupation is NOT RESPONSIBLE, then why do they care to take permissions? And who said the occupation is not responsible over occupied territories?

As always, Israel – continuous falsification of the history!
