Infamous Terry Jones Drops Offending 'Stunt'
Pastor Terry Jones announced Thursday at a chaotic news conference that he decided to cancel his protest, claiming that he struck a deal with the leader of a planned Islamic Center near Ground Zero who agreed to move its controversial location.

However, Imam Rauf, the leader of the proposed center did not make a deal and has never talked to Pastor Terry Jones, Park51 officials adding that they are open to all solutions and that the proposed Islamic center is open to dialogue and reconciliation with the community in lower Manhattan.
Jones’s plans to burn Islam’s holiest text Saturday sparked an international outcry.
President Barack Obama, the top U.S. general in Afghanistan and several Christian leaders had urged Jones to reconsider his plans. They said his actions would endanger U.S. soldiers and provide a strong recruitment tool for Islamic extremists. Jones’ protest also drew criticism from religious and political leaders from across the Muslim world.

What I see of this, it’s not going to turn out well for either side. If the book burnining goes through, not only will it take us to a bad time of the past, but it will justify pointing the finger at Muslim extremists for terror attacks.
If the Mosque is alllowed to be built on ground zero, it will spark nation-wide outrage from Americans which will incite race riots in the streets, where ignorance will have any person who ‘looks’ like a muslim targeted for hate crimes.
The worst thing it will do in this country is give way to mandatory martial law to stem the tide of violence resulting in TOTAL loss of all freedoms for all US citizens, which has appeared to be the goal all along…this insanity just helps ‘them’ force it on us as the only “solution” to the problem.
It’s a great distraction from the looting of the country going on in Washington D.C. at which point we really won’t have the option to resist the actions that will be taken against all citizens.

If it is true that Terry Jones has changed his mind not burn the holy book (Koran) I, well come his plans not to burn the copies of the Koran on 11/September.
Of course, the burning of the Quran, is not a good idea, for 2 reasons, ..First,..it serves no purpose, ..& secondly,..It will most likely get “somebody”, killed, somewhere in the world,..But then, that having been said, I think that it is time for the “non-Muslim” world, to make it clear to the Muslim world, that, the propensity, of Muslims to go on one of their their mindless murdering “rampages”, anytime & every time that they feel “disrespected”, is NOT an acceptable, way to behave,..I am referring here to the “Death varrents’, that is in effect for Salmon Rusty,.the author,.& Geert Wilder, the Danish member of parlament,.who are both under threat of death,.by the Islamists,..& I refer to the murders & riots committed over the Danish cartoons,.& the MURDER of Theo vaN Gogh., thr film maker. Think about it,..IF anyone were threatining to burn any other book, of any other religion,..Nobody would get very upset, & nobody would be threatenig violence, & nobodt would be worried about “violence” erupting,.. Clearly, Islam, is, as a whole, just a little bit to “touchy,..& they need to “lighten up” just a little bit,..The “Religion of Peace,.?
