Whenever Israel’s supporters today speak of a “special relationship” with the US that is supposedly graven in stone, it is useful to remember that something very different existed when Israel came into existence in 1948 on the gutted carcass of Palestine. The US recognized Israel, but that was about it. Hollywood was (and remains) largely a Jewish preserve, but their level of influence elsewhere – in the government, the media and academia – was limited. Prominent American Jews felt no obligation to endorse Israel or Israeli leaders, no matter what happened. Dozens (including Albert Einstein) signed a letter published in the New York Times in 1948 protesting the arrival of Menachem Begin and condemning his actions. And the general American public was largely indifferent to what happened in the Middle East.

There may not be a magic bullet to end the Zionist domination of the American political process, but in Chuck Hagel, we got a dud. I do not regret supporting him at the beginning, but I wish he had shown more fortitude as the process degenerated — admittedly a lot to ask, but then the position to which he was nominated cries out for someone like that, which it has not had for many years. Well, perhaps next time — if there is one — it’ll be a Marine in his place.
The way I see it, the gate to first containing and then rolling back Israel, and thus helping Palestine, is not over there, it is in the US. The lock to that gate is not in Washington, it is in the heartland of America where the Zionists have as of yet remarkably little influence. And the key to that lock is the open wound today which is 9/11 and the wars it spawned. Nail them on 9/11 and the cover-up of it, nail them for the wars they contrived and the wars they want the US to wage on Israel’s behalf, nail them for the lives and treasure America has spent and the lives it has taken waging America’s Jewish Wars, nail them often and hard, and the Zionists may end up wishing Germany had won WWII. How to define 9/11 for the American public and to bring them its message is the subject of the next article: Demystifying 9/11: Israel and the Tactics of Mistake.
President Obama has all the power, but acts as if he were powerless. He positioned himself as a supplicant to Israel and pretending ignorance of Palestinian realities. He thinks and speaks, but does nothing of substance that Israel does not want him to do.
The one striking exception in all of this global tour de farce
But at least two things cause me to question this supposed thesis. One is the odd attribution in at least one of the cables to an Arab leader of a remark on Iran being an “existential threat.” Yet no one except Israel and its proponents refer to any other country as an “existential threat” to anyone, suggesting quite clearly that either some of the released cables regarding Iran are forgeries, or they were deliberately cast in terms to create an impression that Arab leaders really want the US and/or Israel to attack Iran, true or not.
Sahar TV Interview – Dr. Alan Sabrosky The 9/11 issue is increasingly being framed as not “a conspiracy theory,” but “a legitimate controversy,” based on several unanswered questions and important scientific evidence emerging showing the official story line the American public has been fed about the 9/11 attacks is a lie. By Dr. Alan Sabrosky* | Sabbah Report | www.sabbah.biz As the US edges toward an unprovoked and utterly needless war with Iran, some remarks by an eminent and experienced observer of that part of the world caught my attention. First, he noted that “Israel and the US realize that the next war will burn much [...]
By Dr. Alan Sabrosky* | Sabbah Report | www.sabbah.biz In a gesture that has received more than a little attention in the Western media, Israeli officials announced with some fanfare that they were easing the embargo of goods they allow into Palestine. Israel’s supporters have been using the opportunity to declare that this demonstrates Israel [...]
By Dr. Alan Sabrosky* | Sabbah Report | www.sabbah.biz So the predictable dynamics are unfolding. Anywhere the US does not have a veto, Israel is being condemned for its latest atrocities and for its illegal blockade on Gaza. Israel as usual has its puppets in the US Congress and the US mainstream media coming to [...]
By Dr. Alan Sabrosky* | Sabbah Report | www.sabbah.biz The opening moves in the reaction to the Israeli interception of the first wave of the Gaza flotilla have now been made. Israel visibly underestimated the international response to its attack and the casualties it inflicted. Widespread condemnation ensued almost everywhere, many Americans became aware for [...]
By Dr. Alan Sabrosky* | Sabbah Report | www.sabbah.biz Israel’s attack on the Gaza-bound aid flotilla on America’s Memorial Day was all too predictable, although the form it took surprised even me. And it confirms the old proverb that “Those whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad,” for the attack was the kind [...]
By Dr. Alan Sabrosky* | Sabbah Report | www.sabbah.biz There has been something verging on the surreal in the US-Israel interplay over the past year or so, culminating in the kick in – er, the face delivered to Vice President Biden two weeks ago with Israel’s surprise announcement of yet more new settlement construction, and [...]
By Dr. Alan Sabrosky* | Sabbah Report | www.sabbah.biz I cannot speak for the situation elsewhere, but in the US, I doubt if there is a another definable group that equals or surpasses Jews in their achievements in so many different fields, their support for civil liberties and civil rights, and their philanthropy or general [...]
By Dr. Alan Sabrosky* | Sabbah Report | www.sabbah.biz Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu once remarked to a Likud gathering that “Israel is not like other countries.” Oddly enough for him, that time he was telling the truth, and nowhere is that more evident than with Jewish nationalism, whether or not one pins the “Zionist” [...]
And is Israel now on the PR offensive to fight back? By Dr. Alan Sabrosky* | Sabbah Report | www.sabbah.biz Four observations: First, no country has a “right to exist,” and that includes Israel or the United States or even (heavens forbid!) China. The concept is a neat “sound bite” that is historical nonsense, and [...]
By Dr. Alan Sabrosky* | Sabbah Report | www.sabbah.biz A very strange thing must have happened to Admiral Michael Mullen, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), on his way to his recent talk at Washington’s National Press Club. He oddly asserted that Iran was indeed an “existential threat” to Israel (nice of [...]
By Dr. Alan Sabrosky * The incident at Ft. Hood was a genuine tragedy. I’m only surprised it didn’t happen sooner, there or somewhere else. It is going to take time for the details to be sorted out. Generalizing from a single incident is always dangerous, no matter how compelling it seems. Sometimes an isolated [...]
By Dr. Alan Sabrosky * The UN Human Rights Council (HRC) Resolution based on the Goldstone Report is a damning condemnation of Israel. The original meaning of being “caught red-handed” was literally being “caught bloody-handed,” with the victim’s blood on one’s own hands. In Gaza, Israel has been caught red-handed in that literal sense, and [...]
By Dr. Alan Sabrosky* There is always something compelling about a “David and Goliath” confrontation. Most of us prefer winners to losers, and almost everyone feels a thrill when the underdog takes a stand and prevails. This is the surprising situation now unfolding in the rising drama of the Goldstone Report on Gaza. Goliath — [...]
By Dr. Alan Sabrosky* Almost everyone in a dispute hopes to find an honest broker to mediate their differences. The controversy over the Goldstone Report on Gaza and the active role of Turkey’s prime minister therein has raised a collateral issue, which is the US role as a go-between or broker in the Middle East. [...]
By Alan Sabrosky* The attacks on September 11, 2001 have been a defining moment for America. Although the losses were not great in terms of urban slaughter during WWII, the political and psychological impact on Americans of a concerted and visible attack in America were enormous — indeed, it is an interesting “coincidence” that the [...]
By Alan Sabrosky * The hopes Obama raised in Cairo didn’t last a week before US Middle East envoy George Mitchell buried them five days later in Israel. It was understood that what Obama proposed would be difficult to translate into concrete deeds. I believe Obama was sincere, and it wouldn’t have been the first [...]
The world is once again being treated to yet another round in the Israeli-Palestinian “peace process” charade. The “usual suspects” are posturing, pronouncements are being made, speeches are being given, and hints and rumors about a supposed “toughening” in the US Government’s approach to Israel are filtering out from the press. We are supposed to [...]
