The last few weeks have been enlightening, although utterly depressing. If this sounds like a contradiction, all anyone must do to understand what I’m talking about, is to listen to the podcasts from my radio show (http://blogtalkradio.com/headingleft/liberalpro) from the last two weeks. My guests have been some of the most enlightened liberal minds [...]

On Israel’s 60th year of “independence,” the Jewish state is ranked one before last in terms of its global image, according to a comprehensive BBC poll.
According to the annual survey, conducted among 17,000 participants in 34 countries, Iran and Israel “enjoys” the most negative image.
As was the case a year ago, Iran and Israel receive [...]

Personally, I think Segev is wrong about Merkel’s biography, which is opportunism… Her father was a minister who joined the Communist party in East Germany, though he did not have to… and she is clearly Islamophobic - which is seen in her attitude to Turkey, to the Palestinians, to Iran, Iraq, etc… at least [...]

I really don’t understand why these brilliant Palestinian “negotiators” are still commuting between Ramallah and West Jerusalem for “peace talks” that even little kids in the streets of the smallest refugee camp in Gaza realize will lead nowhere.
Indeed, the vast majority of Palestinians are fed up with this [...]

A Global Massacre Against Gaza
By Adel Samara
Note: I certainly need help in answering the following two questions:

Far and near, high and clear,
Hark to the call of War.
Over the gorse and the golden dells,
Ringing and swinging the clamorous bells,
Praying and saying of wild farewells:
War! War! War! (Robert W. Service)

No religious persuasion has ever been more clearly responsible for so much bloodshed and destruction as has “Christian Zionism.” This 100-year [...]

If you think that the “War on Terror” has come about because Islamic extremists “hate your freedoms,” you are wrong. It is because of the unbalanced and deeply flawed foreign policy chosen my US politicians in the Middle East, which generated much of the anti-American sentiment found in the Arab world. If you ask, Why? [...]

American Jews sympathetic to Israel dominate key positions in all areas of our government where decisions are made regarding the Middle East. This being the case, is there any hope of ever changing U.S. policy? President Bill Clinton as well as most members of Congress support Israel-and they know why. U.S. Jews sympathetic [...]

By Nathan Burstein
It’s a list of “the world’s most powerful people,” 100 of the bankers and media moguls, publishers and image makers who shape the lives of billions. It’s an exclusive, insular club, one whose influence stretches around the globe but is concentrated strategically [...]
