Web-savvy criminals have turned Israel into the world's highest ranking source of malicious Internet activity per user, security experts have told The Jerusalem Post.

From July through December 2006, 9 percent of all such activity could be traced back to Israel. Taiwan came next with 8%, while Poland and the US tied at 6%, according to a report issued in March by security software giant Symantec, based in Cupertino, California...

The sophistication of Israel's Internet users and its developed hi-tech sector have contributed to the high level of malicious Web activity, said Arie Danon, Symantec manager for the Mediterranean region...

Reznik chalked the high amount of criminal Internet activity here up to the fact that Israel, according to a study his company performed in February, is a large exporters of spam, accounting for approximately 2% of world junk mail in 2006...

"The figures clearly show that spammers are operating intensively in Israel on an international level" said Yaniv Barzilai, TrekIT deputy managing director of sales, referring to the TrekIT report. Although spam is not itself considered malicious by the researchers and is not necessarily illegal, the Symantec report found that it is increasingly intertwined with malicious criminal activities. Sileas blog hacked

Because â€˜The Pen Is Mightier Than The Swordâ€˜, Sileas, one of my favorite Palestinian blogs by the Izzi was hijacked by Zionist hacker gang and deleted.

Izzi is a gorgeous Palestinian blogger. Her words are smart, sharp and unavoidable, simply because they are true. Of course some Zionists donâ€™t like her and what she do. Izzi inspired me to right the post that pissed off the U.S. Department of State.

Never the less, she will be back soon in a new blog, but if you are interested to know what Izzi talks about, here is a short archive of some of her posts at Palestine Blogs, but they are only excerpts of the full posts. Anyway, they will give you an idea. Not only that, but I just came to know that she will be joining the authors team at Global Voices.

[Source: ynetnews]: More than 750 Israeli websites hacked in recent hours. Among them: Soldier's Treasury Bank, Rambam Hospital, and Globus Group ticket center. Hackers: You're killing Palestinians, we're killing servers.

Hundreds of websites were damaged by hackers in recent hours, following IDF activity in the Gaza Strip. The hackers are members of the Moroccan "Team Evil" group, responsible for most of the website damage in Israel in the past year. This is the largest, most concentrated attack on Israeli websites in recent years.

The group's spokesman previously told Ynet that "we are a group of Moroccan hackers that hack into sites as part of the resistance in the war with Israel. We attack Israeli sites every day. This is our duty - hacking is not a crime."

Added another group member: "We want Israel to stop fighting. Stop killing children and we'll stop hacking." According to the spokesman, the group's members are all Moroccan youths, under the age of 20.

The increase in hacking of websites following military operations is a well-known phenomenon, in Israel and in the rest of the world. A similar increase was seen in attacks on both Israeli and Arab websites in the first days of the second intifada, pursuant to military operations that took place in Gaza, Judea and Samaria at that time.
